That fat fck is probably trying to get some clam chowder added to the deal - DDM-Coga
Do we always have to resort to insulting the man's weight; I mean how do these comments about a GM help anything? I'm sure you have your deficiencies. |

So it's his diet and weight that affect his GM role? Thanks for clearing that up... - whipper334
No its his ego and arrogance in the media. He is like Burke, loves the spot light and running his mouth. He needs to take a cue from Holland and the other great GMs in the league, shut it and let your team do the talkign for you |

Yeah I don't think we touch Stastny with a 10' pole.
I still think we could get a top 3 forward out of St. Louis some how. All starting with JBo, they know he would be awesome along side of Pet. - whipper334
Flames probably could get a top forward from St. Louis. But not a top forward plus. Maybe plus a mid-round draft pick if they hold onto some of JBo's salary. But Flames aren't going to get a top forward, plus a pick, plus a prospect like so many are asking for here. You can't get a younger, cheaper top line guy for JBo AND also expect to get more for the future.
JBo for Perron
or something like
JBo for D'agostini, Russel & a 1st |

Seriously! - whipper334
I don't think "hawksfaninbc" is all that off.
Goalies are not worth much at the deadline so i don't see a team giving up a 1st for Kipper.
Gio could get a 1st but not much else if the flames went that route. I don't see the flames going that route, they want young players that can play now and next year.
The only player out of the 3 that could get back a 1st + young players at the deadline would be Iggy. |

Iggy, Sarich, Byron to BOS for : Hamilton, 1st
Jbo, Stempniak, prospect, salary retention to PHI for: B. Schenn, L. Schenn, 1st
Cammi, salary retention to ANA for: Holland, 1st
From all I've read, some think PIT wouldbe willing to give 2 of their D prospects for Iggy; BOS outbids by offering Hamilton
B Schenn rocks, L Schenn.... doesn't; PHI needs cap space and prospects
ANA is going for it and has a lot of good prospects (I know people hate this one)
CGY finishes with top 3 pick; PHI narrowly misses out and we get a 2nd lottery chance; we trade 2 of the later 1st's for another top 10.
With luck we draft 2 of Jones, McKinnon, Drouin and Barkov.
With Drouin or Barkov we move McK to RW and we have Baertschi- Barkov- McKinnon as future top line
Jones, our future back end is Hamilton- Brodie, Jones- Wotherspoon
Of course I'm aiming high on returns so don't bother pointing it out. Got to aim high. Oh and as a mid pick I'm liking Ryan Pulock. - TandA4Flames
Shero isn't an idiot. He isn't giving up two D prospects for a two-month rental. If anything, I'm not sure Pittsburgh will be in the running for Iggy when all is said and done. We can score goals. We have other primary needs.

Then insult his arrogant mouth.
Although he has said some dumb things, I find his passion and speech refreshing after having D. Sutter for years. Although Sutter was good for a laugh. |

Pittsburgh would give up Kennedy in a trade for Iginla, but there's no way they're parting with Sutter. He was a key piece in the Staal trade, and a key center in the Pens current system. There's no way they will trade him for a rental.
I think it would be Kennedy and a Defenseman Prospect (Maatta or Morrow). Maybe even Despres, judging by the way that Bylsma plays him. I personally don't understand how this kid keeps getting scratched night after night, but what the hell do I know...
It should be interesting to see where Iginla goes before the deadline. I'd welcome him in Pittsburgh, but not at too high of a cost. The Pens need defense more than offense. Sure Iginla brings grit, and leadership, and would be one hell of a presence in the locker room and on the bench, but I just think the price is way too high for Pittsburgh. - simethos
This is something people can't grasp. Pittsburgh is committed to having a strong up the middle attack - Crosby, Malkin and Sutter provide this. If Sutter doesn't come back from Carolina, Staal isn't a member of the Hurricanes. Sutter is going no where.

I insult him about that as well, but he seems to have a cult following who loves it when he runs his mouth. Which I just dont get. Sure if what he says ends up beign true, teams looks unbeatable, but when he turns out to be a pile of shat, its just embarrasing to the franchise.
I just dont get how he is tolerated so much |

I wasn't saying that I trusted all of the "sources" from my readings. Just siomply that I have read speculation. Fire up the bidding war and see what happens. I think by this point the PIT organization may be Jones'n for another cup. I would also say that Crosby likely has as much pull with that organization as Iggy has with CGY. |

I think he gets a long grace period because of the last few years of Sutter. Also, don't think for a second that Feaster hsn't used that to his benefit, either. |

With this line up we likely win the cup this year... aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnd then we suck again (worse) when we lose all the FA and have no room on the cap to ice any more than 12 players. |

Flames aren't getting a top center from the Blues. We don't have depth there to give one up. And with Iginla being just a rental, you need to lower expectations for him. |

Blues aren't interested in trading Berglund. If they did, it would need to be an overpayment, and even then picks/prospects aren't what would be appealing to them, unless you were talking like JBo + 2013 first. |

Dude, this trade makes you guys the favourite for the cup. At some point you need to make the hard decision and go for it. This is mutally beneficial. In the long run CGY wins this trade, but how do you argue with making a trade that helps win you the cup? Also, you guys have the room to resign Iggy.
CGY traded away Brett Hull and won the cup. Hull had a tremendous career but I would do the trade again knowing that it brought us our only cup. And please, don't argue that we "could" have won more with Hull. It can't be proven and likely we would have had to trade Hull because we wouldn't be able to afford him as the hard times were about to hit the Canadian teams. |
