Again...having to do with moving down the totem pole. He could arguably regress if moved back to a 1st line role. - Colin Dambrauskas
I'm sure that is what COL would argue in any trade talks. In the end, I would no longer consider anything like Jbo for Statsny straight up. Stats and a 2nd would be a starting point but I still think Jbo is more valuable right now. |

Nice. Did Miller play with Gaudreau at the WJC's? I can't remember who centered him and Grimaldi (who was eventually sat and then moved to a different line). I think I forgot about the ANA players, but I agree with your assessment except for Lindholm, I would take him in a trade. |

I'll give it a go:
Iggy for Spooner , Peverly, and a 1st
Cammi and Butler for Jake Gardiner and MacArthur
JBO and Stempniak for Stewart, Cole and 2nd
Gio for Desprses and a 3rd.
Kipper traded in the summer. Goalies are not worth crap at the deadline. - nigelwright275
I agree with you iggy trade, also wouldnt mind for just spooner and peverly and iggy resigns here in the summer.
kipper to the leafs for gardiner and a 2nd
Jbo to st lou to st lou for berglund and rattie. my theory here, ask for an overpayment and if it is not had you keep jbo cause with his style he can play many years yet. if you don't get a great package, keep him and focus on moving gio. i am a huge gio fan but with wideman playing well and brodie emerging someone has to go.
stempniak and gio to pens for desprses, matta and 3rd.
one of the biggest things i would like to see flames do is RESIGN BACKLUND BEFORE SEASON IS OVER!
dont know if a 7th can be gotten for any of these but if they can you take whatever you can for babchuk, sarich, smith, irving, taylor.

I'm not too familiar with Lindholm, which is why I said unsure. Don't know enough to make a decision.
And yes, JT Miller played with Gaudreau at the WJC |

so......you're saying.....there is.......hope??? - The-O-G
I only fear he struggles breaking out in the NHL given his size. Not overly small, but has some ways to go just the same. |

Thanks. What are your thoughts Whip? I know you have strong ones some times. I would love to hear it on Colin's players and your own. I know you would rather move Gio than Jbo. What else? - TandA4Flames
The bottom line is the NMC's or the NTC's are going to be a problem and the fact Edwards is only concerned about $$$.
That being said Iggy should be moved and hopefully he resigns in the summer. He derserves (if he wants) to retire a Flame.
Depending on the return I would trade Gio over JBo all day long.
Backlund should NOT be moved unless the return is such we can't turn it down. (don't think that would happpen)
Baertschi, Brodie, Hudler, Wideman, Cervenka (hopefully we can get him resigned) should be untouchable, period.
Stemper, Cammy, Sarich, Babchuk, Smith all can moved for any picks we can get.
Jackman, Begin, Alui, Jones, Comeau...UGH!!! |

Leafs wouldnt trade Gardiner at this point...they are looking for more youth as much as the Flames...well, maybe not AS much. - Colin Dambrauskas
Didn't Gardiner's agent tweet something today about #freegardiner, or something to that effect. Maybe he get's moved. I'm not big on MacAurthur, though. |

LOL....Hartley won't even announce Kipper is the starter? WTF?
Anyways, not a bad little list, some a little more far-fetched than others but that's the way she goes.
I would like to see the Flames go after Dougie Hamilton. I could see a Iggy + Gio for Hamilton and a First type of deal. Also maybe Gardiner out of T.O.? Iggy for Gardiner? Other than that the Flames need some big/good centermen....I think the only way this is going to happen is through the draft... - The-O-G
No way will you get Dougie Hamilton never mind + anything else for a Iggy as a potenial rental and a lesser d-man in Gio. Terrible
The precedent has been set for top market rentals (Hossa, Kovy, etc). 1st round draft pick, a mid-levl prospect, and a 2nd line or 2nd pairing forward or dman |

Lindholm was drafted 6th overall last year; listed at 6'3" 196 and an all around Dman |

Would you agree Iggy is worth a first and a good prospect? If so, basically what you are saying is the value between said prospect and Hamilton cannot be bridged by Giordano? Sure, maybe not, it's not that far off though. I would argue for this years cup run Gio would be more valuable than Hamilton. |

Pretty much agree with all of it. Except for maybe Jbo/Gio but only because I think Gio has better leadership qualities that we may need to help our youngsters and with Iggy's departure. Not to mention the return and $$ savings should be greater with Jbo. |

Hamilton has already shown he is not a prospect, he is stable NHL caliber defenceman already with a very huge upside, Bruins would be trading 20 years of a dman away, for potentially only 2-3 years of service with Iggy and Gio.
Bruins would get hosed big time on that, dont see them gambling that much. Losing Hamilton creates a bigger hole than what the addition of iggy would bring. |

Statsny is the next Gomez.
Iggy AND Baertschi for Stewart and a prospect? Are you kidding?
Ovechkin for Kipper, Gio and a 2nd? Washington would hang up immediately. - The-O-G
I doubt any 1st round picks will come the Flames way for Kipper and Giordano but maybe Iginla |

You're probably right but who knows how teams value these things with a cup on the line. I think the thought of Iggy going to PIT may help sway things as well. Besides, given our situation, CGY can give anything and everything (just about) to aquire what would be a player to build around. |
