I know where you are coming from.. I used to think like that.. I grew up near North Bay in the bush and sometimes you can't stand them for more than a few minutes.. But when you plan a canoe trip in mid-late may and you have no option other than to put up with them, you grow some thick skin. After 5 days i was walking around with no shirt on no problem. You just gotta brave the pain for a but and learn how to cope with it. It was weird.. i came out of the bush with hardly any bite marks, and my g/f wouldnt even get out the car to greet me because of the blackflys haha.

30 years I have been going up to the cottage while they are around, you don't get immune to them. They are relentless and swarm. You protect yourself as best you can from them with clothing, I refuse to use chemicals on my skin.

10 hours a day/6 days a week in the bush for 2 months, before long you just get bat crazy enough not to notice or care about them. I tried oils, citronella everything, just said (frank) it and went with that deet stuff. So you're half right about not getting immune to them.

It is when a bunch of them get near the ears, it's like they are in your brain. Not looking forward to them this year.

No one becomes immune to black flies, they don't discriminate, they bite everyone equally. Nasty little creatures.

problem with the condensed schedule. honestly don't think they work on it much - D-zone coverage takes priority. (and should again, sadly)
- Big_Lightnin

They way they've been playing lately it sure dont look like they've been focused on working on their d-zone coverage at all

games against Bruins and Pens will do that...

dunno when last time they had a real practise was either - 4 games in 6 days last week, one day off, 1 travel day, then played last night.

sucks.

so maybe today they'll actually work on something

He has Kessel to thank for that. Y'know, the guy everyone says was one-dimensional, so now we need Corey Perry instead.

Dion got lucky on a couple turnovers I was not thrilled about. He needed to bury on that 5 on 3. Kessel had no shooting lane, and a simple one-timer with traffic in front is how you need to play it. The guy simply cannot hit the net in the same way Franson does.

...As for top guys doing their jobs: there was Grabs missing a chance to make it 2-1 Leafs, instead the Jets turn around and make it 2-1. He's paid money to bank those

- AngryWhiteMale

Franson is only a slightly more accurate shooter than Dion statistically. He takes a high volume of shots so you see what you want to see.

Hilarious that some fans can still find a way to fault Dion.

lol fair enough it just gets so over the top sometimes. Dion is a negative player lets buy him out! He could never be a number 1 dman.

As if people would say that about Pietrangelo, Suter, Kronvall, Edler, Johnson, Doughty all sporting the big bad minus.

Both teams will have trouble moving those guys due to the skin colour of both of them...huge risk taking a chance on them.

soooo... this is just sitting there in the Ek thread... in a blog about possibilities of trading Iginla and Byfuglien...

I can't help but look at Dion, and other than him having too many teeth, he looks like he could be on that Swamp People show.

I'm changing his name to Dijon and saying it with a bayou accent.
