Black flies and blister cream - you're as good as in...warning - you know that old adage...be careful what you wish for.

Oh frack, dude, you just reminded me. First few weeks they're hell, especially if they get inside your clothes. But after a while they get replaced by deer flies.

If buddys defense, I highly doubt Carlyle is preaching stay stationary with the puck on a 5 on 3 and be patient for an opening to take that slapshot of yours instead of moving the puck....

JVR and Bozak neeed to be more in motion. always have 1 in front, but has to be an option to get the defenders moving around.

In the spring i become so immune to blackflys that i dont even notice them anymore.. I would sit in my canoe and watch people lose their minds and almost start crying while i dont bat an eye...

K ya.. deer flies piss me off.. Not gonna lie.. They can bite thru your shirt.. I hate portaging and a deerfly or a horsefly wont leave you alone..

You can get used to them tho.. It takes some meditation and time but it is achievable. You gotta know when to swat at them, and when to let them buzz around..

problem with the condensed schedule. honestly don't think they work on it much - D-zone coverage takes priority. (and should again, sadly)

i found that Watkins always worked well..

I know where you are coming from.. I used to think like that.. I grew up near North Bay in the bush and sometimes you can't stand them for more than a few minutes.. But when you plan a canoe trip in mid-late may and you have no option other than to put up with them, you grow some thick skin. After 5 days i was walking around with no shirt on no problem. You just gotta brave the pain for a but and learn how to cope with it. It was weird.. i came out of the bush with hardly any bite marks, and my g/f wouldnt even get out the car to greet me because of the blackflys haha.
