It doesnt Matter he is easily better than Kostka Fraser Liles Especially Holzer and id say overall better than franson even though him and Fraser have played exremely well. You Put your best players on the ice. I get that he needed some conditioning but he's been ready for 3 weeks already.

I have my doubts Holzer even gets claimed, and if he does...meh.

Just end the bozak on the number 1 line experiment. I keep hearing about chemistry, what chemistry.....all I see is Kessel scoring points when he feels like and Bozak getting secondary assists or being dished an easy goal.

I want Gardiner up too. 3 straight losses, now is the time you can make a change I think.........move Kadri beside Kessel and Lupul......and call up Colborne.

Trade Kulemin too when Lupul comes back. Or move MacArthur.

if he’s going to continue using Grabos line as a shutdown line I’d rather see McClement up there. I think MacArthur/Kulemin go beside Colborne .

That's fine, then he if we move Kostka, he can come back up.

The top players have been showing up to do their jobs lately. What concerns me more is that the supporting players seem to have disappeared.

The top line will always take heat. It's the nature of the job in Toronto. But over the course of a season, they will perform as advertised.

The third line has been a pleasant surprise, but they can't be expected to carry the second line's burden of offense, as well.

Don't worry about Kessel or JVR. Don't worry about Phaneuf. The top talent will do what they need to.

Worry about the guys who are supposed to step up in the secondary roles. That second line needs to pitch in more than 1 goal every 3 games. Guys like Holzer and Kostka aren't amazing, but they could stop being constant liabilities at the very least.

Maybe but that's what he is....a bottom pairing guy at best.
At the end of last year Gardiner was top 4. He's healthy so why are the Leafs playing a no 5 or 6 guy in the top 2 instead of him.

Other than for Kessel it looked the Leafs were not keeping up to the Jets. The Leafs have played with a good pace most of the season but last night most of the lines and D looked slow.

Liles is a mobile puck mover, bench Kostka or Holzer for a couple games and use Liles. Lets face it, Lupul should be back soon, which means someone needs to be sent down or traded. Holzer is the only 1 that can be sent down. Unless Leafs have a trade on the horizon Gardiner will probably stay put for a little while.
