Not that it means much at all but Gardiner did lead Leafs' D in +/- last season. He isn't that bad in his own end. - Lipchitz
He's terrible in his own end. If he was anything but the Leafs would be insane not to have him in the lineup. His defensive liability out way his offensive upside.

Fraser and Phaneuf also play LD, Holzer plays RD.
If Holzer comes out, Komi goes in.
Not Gardiner (or Liles). - Big_Lightnin
Yeah cause apparently a LD cannot play RD according to carlyle |

i did watch him last year, arguably one of our better defenders that are "useful", despite even if he needs some work on his own end, hes better than guys like kostka or holzer taking up a spot - Mapleleafs_91
Then why isn't he here? You'd do anything to get him in the lineup if that was a fact.

Why, is he going to start to sell off the poop at the Vadican?
If not, I fail to see why he is important to begin with. - bixll
because he leads 1.2 billion people thats why
like i said.. not religious.. but i can appreciate the power and sway the pope has amongst governments
who do indeed effect our lives. it would be foolish to believe he sists around praying all day.. many policies in many many countries are strongly influenced by the papacy.
basically.. if christian culture exists within the country you abide in, then the pope will effect your lifestyle via your government. |

He isn't terrible in his own end, he isn't good either. At the end of the day you win by scoring more goals than you allow. I don't feel that Gardiner is so bad that it mitigates what he does on the offensive end where he can be dynamic. |

Because we have had a winning team and you dont mess with that chemistry. Now that were losing and have major goals scored against us per game, 4-5 goals a game, you can clearly see the defense is deteriorating, the NHL guys are back into form and the AHL guys are trailing off. The fact that majority of the goals are because of holzers line, with or without phaneuf, phaneuf has been playing better lately and hes not moving from the lineup so get that out of your heads. As gardiner was the better player of last year and is playing good and looks like he is in form again, you play the guy. Holzer has done nothing spectacular to keep him in the lineup. |

Craziness.. I am not a fan of religion.. at all... And I was brought up Protestant, same as you were.
Quickly became a non-believer, as I grew up. It is not for me.
I can't wait to see Peter MacKay at Tim Horton's. I will be asking him is the Pope has any affect on our government. I can hit a 3 iron to his house from mine..He is a Pictou County boy. |

Franson (who was a -1 anyways) played half a year and minimal minutes so I didn't include him. |

Hes good but still think we can get a better return for kulemin from the pens knowing that they want him to play with malkin, its not like we are asking them hey do you want kulemin? or hey we will trade you kulemin. Thats not the case, in this case im pretty sure the pens are asking about kulemin and a trade, were we have no need to move him unless it is a good return - Mapleleafs_91
Harrington and a *conditional 2014 1st round pick for Holzer and Kulemin
*If Penguins re-sign Kulemin the 2014 1st is guaranteed. If Kulemin does not accept a contract extension by 2014 Draft then the 2014 1st is turned into a 2014 2nd and an additional 2015 3rd round pick is included. |

Yeah and your point? Is he moving out of the lineup any time soon? No. Is RC gunna bench our captain? No. So stop female doging about a guy who plays a physical game, scores, sets up the play on powerplays, and has been playing a good game of hockey these past couple games bodying out key players like crosby and kane which was evident throughout the games. |

Lmao. Dude fact is he's terrible in his own end. He skates well with the puck I'll give him that but he isn't even a great passer from his own end. Watch a game not the stat sheet. - honesthockey
So we're writing off rookies who made the jump from the NCAA, I see. And there's no chance he'll be any better in his second year either. Weren't you the guy who thought the AHL was a wasteland for top young players, and that guys should develop in the NHL? |
