Sorry disagree with everything you've said. I fully believe in AHL coaching if said coach is turning young players into NHLer's. Eakins has had his hand in one. Kadri. - honesthockey
The only other ones he has had other than Kadri and Frattin, is Colborne and he is improving his overall play. You seem to forget the cupboards were bare for a few years. |

I disagree, having seen many Marlies games, he did a great job with Kadri and Frattin.
He is doing the same with Blacker, Ross and McKegg, teaching them to play a complete game. - LeafMan
Sorry don't see any of these guys being solid NHLers.

That is who he has been given to work with and that is what he is doing. Can't wave the magic wand for elite prospects to work with. |

Yup, McKegg is going to be a solid 3rd liner. Love his game when he was with the Knights and he looks to be expanding it with the Marlies. |

Ah so you see about 1/8th of a shift. Forget the fact that he wins draws that turn into goals, makes more passes that enter the opposition zone and is the only one even remotely close to be able to play in his own end on his line. Believe me he's on the ice bc Carlyle like what he sees. No other reason to have him out there. - honesthockey
Do we also forget the face-offs he loses that turn into goals?
Bozak is a 3rd liner who is playing on the 1st line by default, not because Carlyle likes what he sees. If he could choose between Bozak and a real 1st line center, Bozak would be playing 12 minutes a game so fast it would cut his hair. |

Wouldnt mind him as a 3rd liner playing center or on the wing. Since he can play both. He can always move up, alot of potential there for him |

Sounds like you should take over Eakins job...send in your application...looking forward to seeing you behind the Marlie bench. Use us as a reference - we'll put in a good word for you even though you sound like you don't need our help. |

A) Subjective. I agree it helps that he can win draws (which I said he's good at) but you can't say it exactly correlates to goals.
B) "makes more passes" ? Not sure what you are going for there. He enters the zone with PASSTOKESSELPASSTOKESSELPASSTOKESSELPASSTOKESSEL screaming through his head 95% of the time and bungs it up 85% of the time.
C) Defense
Soooo all in all you've made no progress in disagreeing with me. Bozak = no good offensively. OK at best. |

They can call up Hamilton and he will give you more than Steckel but that roster spot will be taken by Lupul once he is ready, Steckel will be on waivers unless another injury happens. |

Nah Eakins would do a better job then me. I'm just not convinced he's God either. Hasn't shown enough of what I consider his job. Develop NHLers.

Hey guys! You won't see Gardiner..yet. Especially after what his agent said via twitter, if anything it killed Gardiner's chance of being called up! Carlyle will not look like a fool.. LILES needs to be re-inserted into the lineup, Holzer sent down. If the Leafs want any chance of getting a decent return for Liles, they need to play him now and show the interested teams he can still be an impact on your top 4. - IGNITE
Agree. Liles IS an impact player, and a top 4 on many teams. Get him on the ice! |

All of this translates into offense that isn't recorded on the stat sheet but whatever I know that the stat sheet is the only indicator understood.

If McKegg is a third liner letting him learn the NHL game on line 4 isn't a stretch.

Why is he a 3rd liner? And the Leafs only have 1 center on the team? - honesthockey
Because offensively, he's worthless. He's a 40 point player even with good offensive linemates in a wide open offensive system.
If Bozak wants to continue his career once his days of being a #1 center by default are over, he had better start reviewing game tape of John Madden and figure out how make it work on the 3rd line. |

If this happens, the real question is:
Would you trade Correy Perry for Seguin and Dougie Hamilton.... |

McKegg is not ready, he has been scratched quite a few times as Eakins and the staff work with him. If you want a fourth liner you can use D'Amigo or Ryan as a try. |
