Good teams find ways to win those games more often than not. They are not a good team. Hence, they've lost those games.
- buffalofan19

They definitely aren't good. But they aren't exactly getting curb stomped even by teams well above them in the standings.

Silver lining.
Brian Flynn looks more and more legit with every game that goes by.

- BuffaloHardHat

Flynn and Porter look good.

Gerbe and Stafford look terrible by comparison and can leave ASAP

As bad as this team has looked at times, and as painful as they have been to watch, we have lost ten 1-goal games. If you win just half of those we are like 5th in the conference right now. I guess what I'm trying to say is that they may not be as bad as we think? Or maybe they are. Hell, who knows?
- Pierceme69

The can't score on the pp.
They give up shorties

Special teams is their biggest problem. Hence, the 1 goal games.

I like what Flynn brings to the table. Porter, to me, is just stealing minutes we'd be better suited using on Grigs.

they only seem to win when no one expects them to. any time they get close in the standings or its perceived as a "big" game they go away. its not that they are out of their league talent wise- its that they are soft, flawed, inconsistent, fragile, underachieving, and sometimes lazy.

for me- thats worse than just plain bad. thats why we boo. thats why there is hatred and disgust. thats why there is 1000 posts when we lose and 200-300 when we win...

Looks like I was right, I did pick the right game to go to!

The first period nearly put me to sleep besides those two scoring chances but the game overall was pretty entertaining.

And it's never bad to leave a game with a game puck.

THe arena was dead lastnight for the most part after that shorty sunk the sails and evern after the guys the cheering never really picked up. Seems most people myself included are just hoping to get by these last 20 games.

Personally I think Buffalo fans are just not loud fans, which leads to a dead arena. The only section you can hear is the student surge section, mainly because they are a bunch of young college kids having fun. Every Sabres game I go to I try to do the chants and at least cheer for the team. Its really quite embarrassing going to games now a days.

to a point i agree. we are not euro soccer fans (thats not a dig at euro soccer fans- we are just different). we are more cerebral- we like to watch the game attentively and recognize/appreciate the nuances. this leads to quiet crowds during play.

but i do remember the building during "the hardest working team" seasons, and the drury/briere runs (the shots of the crowd watching outside gave me goosebumps).

electric. give us a team and an effort to cheer for and we can bring it.

Its never like that when they are contending, Buffalo fans have endured a lot over they years so its almost a wait and see approach at this point...kinda gun shy maybe. How many times can you get stabbed in the heart and keep coming back with the same enthusiasm..

I'm not a loud fan, I just like watching the game and keeping my eye on the play. But I do like when it's loud before the game and after like a 2 minute stretch of just dominating hockey, but when is the last time this team has done that? Buffalo fans loudness is there, just the team inspiring them isn't.

Darcy should not be in control of this team any longer, thanks to Pegula not getting rid of him and Lindy when he bough this circus act we are now 2 more years behind our original 2 years.
- SABRES 89

yeah can't argue with that much.

darcy made some good trades but it isn't nearly enough for the mess he has. also, if you fire the coach, you're saying the boys are doing alright and give it a try next year (paraphrased tortorella quote) and even though lindy probably had to go, i still blame general malaise by our players far and away more than i blame lindy. i think lindy is creative and very bright and the last two, maybe three seasons he was just really bored working with the same crap players who didn't want to work for him and each other.

I have been against moving the big 3 because I feel we need them but, I always say Hasek wasted away here and with Pegula setting this team back yet again it's only fair to move them. The return should be good for all 3 and not just picks, those guys are worth players and picks.

Sabres need to deal with LA to get Bernier, they'll take Regehr for sure.

Only question I have is who else the Sabres will have to deal because no way the Kings are gonna sell Bernier for Regehr even though they really want a defenseman like him.

I see the Bills are moving in a positive direction , 20 mill for a KR? It's just unreal how bad both of these teams are.

The loudness really isnt there. Sabres fans are just weak when it comes to cheering. Too many season ticket holders who bought them back in 05/06 when we were the most exciting team in hockey and now just sit there IMO. There are plenty of bad teams that still have fans that cheer. I can see why players dont want to play here, all the fans do is criticize and when you play games in front of packed houses you can hear a pin drop.

Looks like John Scott should get a go Saturday night vs Ott and more specifically vs Matt Kassian.
