So....Torts to Buffalo then?

It just reminds me of the end of Lindy Ruff in Buffalo. Just a desperate man on the mic. The coach of an underachieving team that spent to the limit and really felt they made good choices.

i wouldn't go that far lol. this guy did take a team (that everyone had pegged as a first round exit pre-season) to the conference finals just last season and we're still well in the playoff hunt....

I'm not doubting you but do you have sources as well?

Every once in a while I hear some noise. Nothing to the extent of Homer's boys though.

I got the Shaone Morrison signing a few years ago.

we have stretches of games where we look like the pre-season favorite everyone pegged us to be but then we have stinkers like that. consistency is the biggest issue right now with the rags and i am indeed worried because it seems that every team ahead of us keeps winning.

before tonight, 6 games ago we were in 8th place. we won 5 of those 6 games and were still in 8th place....

Nothing I've heard out of NY suggests they are happy with the results right now. When they got Nash I came on here and flipped out. I thought it was a game changer. I thought the Sabres would have to change their entire approach to success based on what the Rangers are on paper. Thats just not the case.

They play like they did tonight, they will be outside the bubble. They were atrocious tonight.

I'm sure Homer would back me up on this, the Sabres brass are going to create a shakeup. Heads are going to roll on trade deadline day boys. Get ready.
- BuffMAN74

I'm sorry I just don't buy it. Leopold will be moved for a draft pick then call up either pysyk or mcnabb followed by a lame press conference on how we are on the right track

while we're certainly not thrilled with the results so far, we're not devastated. in fact, i think NYR fans are absolutely happy the previous 6 games before tonights.

the more knowledgeable NYR fans expected it to take some time. after all, we have 13 new players in the lineup this year which is more than half the team! plus there was no training camp and we lost a bunch of the character guys that grew up learning torts' system like dubi, anisimov, prust, fedetenko.

but i guess that's just making excuses. NYR should've been prepared to play this game tonight and can't afford to lose games to (no offense) weak teams like buffalo.

Just saw the Torts presser. The guy is a beauty.

Tells it how it is. I think 2 seconds of Tortorella in the Sabres' room would have captain cliche Jason Pominville in the far corner of the rink sucking his thumb.

If Enroth starts the next game and plays similar to his last two starts, the goalie who many said does not belong in the NHL, will have a better GAA and Save% then Miller this season

Except for the last couple years, I've always viewed NY as a team that signs stars that can't actually play together just for the sake of putting stars on the ice. The last couple years, I have been jealous of their team. But I think they're starting to get too star heavy again. I lived in Minneapolis during the Gaborik era and he is definitely a waste of money. Dude was hurt more often than not and would show occasional flashes of brilliance. You guys need more Callahans, Less Gaboriks....or you could just trade us Callahan. I'm sure we have some lazy europeans somewhere in our system we can give you.

Man, I hope not. But, after all, we do have Darcy as GM. So the track record precedes itself.

I like you, and I respect your opinion. But just looking objectively, nothing the Rangers are really doing makes me think they can win a 7 game series against a top seed. They just lost to a team with an Ewok in net for gods sakes.

Tough to compare stats when Enroth has played in only 3 games. Everybody gets hot once in a while.

Foligno's first goal was ill.

Flynn looked like a season vet on Foligno's second goal

The guy should have been a politician. He talks in circles so much, the circle starts to think it's a square.

yeah but 98% of this board was calling Enroth dog poop after those few games when the team played uninspired hockey

safe to say he is back and is what he is

A goalie worthy of playing in the NHL adjusting from being the man to a seldom used backup that can still play with the best of them on any given night.

Trade em all and use their contract money for "free beer night" at the arena. I don't even live in Buffalo and i'd be happy.

gabby's scored 40 goals twice in the previous 3 season?

100% agreed about the 7 game series thing.
