not zero, but also, not a 1st.
Flames fans overvalue their assets. It is refreshing that a columnist does not.

I disagree with that assessment, I think that a contending team with a projected late 1st would give one up for Iggy easily. I should add, I'm not as sure of the value of their other assets (the best case scenario floated has the Flames getting 3 1sts for Iggy, Kipper and JBo, but I think they'd be lucky to get 2)

Whether there would be anything else significant in the deal, I don't know.

While I agree that fans generally will overvalue their assets, I don't think this is the correct response.

We see Iggy's perceived value pretty much every day in here when fans of other teams come in and talk trades with us.

The consensus seems to be a very good prospect and a 1st. We're not going to get Shenn or Couturier, or Brett Sutter, or Seguin, but the proposals around kids like Knight, or Spooner, or Maata, or Laughton... + a first are all pretty widely accepted as fair value.

Kipper's the wildcard I think. Goalie market is all about timing... If a contender sees their starter go down, suddenly they might be willing to part with their 1st.

If we can't get at least that for him, I'd rather see us keep him and ease Ramo in next season.
