You think Feaster and Co. read this message board? I really hope they read my plan on how to get MacKinnon and Drouin. I might hand deliver a note to Ken King next home game. Someone's gotta do it.

These aren't necessarily "straight up trade", but the basis for them. (and some wishful thinking)

Iginla to Pittsburgh for one of Pouliot, Morrow, or Maatta (maybe Harrington) and a First. Pittsburgh has so many defencemen prospects that it will be one of them that they part with. Of the reported interested teams in Iginla, this has the best return.

Bouwmeester to St. Louis for Rattie and a First. St. Louis is so deep on the wings that Rattie becomes available. Maybe package more to get Cole as well. This also pairs Baertschi with his Junior Line-mate. Backlund between them would be nice.

Kipprusoff to Carolina for Rask and a First. Depends if Ward's injury is season ending. If it is and Carolina leading their division they will want the goalie for the playoffs. They are also deep and center and Rask becomes available.

or maybe (and my preference)

Kipprusoff to the Islanders for one of Strome, Neidereiter, or Reinhart and a first. This may be pushing it and may take more than just Kipper, but the Islanders are pushing for the playoffs right now, and they have no goalie signed for next season. Kipper next year is "Low Salary / High Cap hit" which is usually what the Islanders like to see.

Like I said, none of those are necessarily straight up trades. Just some ground work.

Do those and it leaves the Flames with 4 first round picks. With them playing as they are maybe their own pick will have them into a top 3 pick (looking like Florida will be drafting first and taking Seth Jones). Then package picks and other to get the other top 3, and draft both MacKinnon and Drouin.

A lot of hoping and dreaming but would be awesom.

A lot of hoping for sure but I don't see anything in there that isn't close at least.

Seriously, Iggy, Kipper, and JBO have serious value and they need to take advantage. Although I would feel bad shipping kipper to the island.

I think the Islanders would be more inclined to bring in a young guy like Bernier who can grow with their core.

Ya but I mean it's the Islanders.....like previous poster said. Low salary, High cap hit. Does make sense, and the Isles are on the up swing (I think)

Kipper to TO sounds better by the day.
Poor guy. Whatever the reason, he shouldn't have sat last night. He has meant too much to the franchise to do that.

And he looked p-ssed abt it.

Colin, what do think Feaster's asking price will be for Iginla? I'm just curious as to what you think?
- EKolb13

1st and a prospect is the consensus. Won't be the asking price, but it will be what they get. OK, maybe 1st + prospect and a 3rd liner.

I really hope Flames fans don't continue to overrate their trade chips.

If the Flames could get a first, and blue chip, and someone with some size that can play its a win.

God knows this team needs youth, and size.

How does feaster have a job (any job) at the nhl level? If the flames dont retool and rebuild now then they surely will have to at the draft. Why not fire feaster today, get a gm your happy with building a team. Feaster will probably make things even worse if he is allowed to blow this team up.
- 10in_soft

I am convinced. The only way to force Murray and Ken to allow their GM to GM is an Oriole's type of -hate Angelos- protest.
One game in the near future, all season ticket holders should boycott the game. Empty seats will be an emphatic statement.

J Bo is an upgrade on the ice over Cole. But J Bo's contract isnt as attractive as say a Yandle. Thats the big problem with a good return for J Bo. Yandle signed a reasonable conract and would bring a much better return than J Bo.
- gobluenotes

This is actually the best post I have seen summing up JBo's value.
I don't see a 1st, I don't see a top-tier prospect.
I certainly don't see Stemp and JBo for Cole and Stewart.

They gave up a top pick for Stewart, and Stemp is avg (and undersized) while JBo would be a #3 on St. Lou.

No no dont give up hope you are no where near rock bottem...!!! me and the rest of Oiler nation completely support your current way of asset management... trade all picks and prospects and sign every old useless free agent and give No trade clauses out like some sort of lost leader in the super market!

Oh, and a word of advise on Kipper and Iggy... well we think you should hold on to them a little while longer they have not totally lost the will to compete ,but your doing a good job sucking the life out of them. you should not trade Iggy!! seeing him playing on a last place team for another 20+ games after a great career is more valuable than the 1st round pick and good prospect that you might get in return.

Good luck at the draft! you will probally find a way to screw up that as well ( just like the Offer sheet to O'Reilly haha ...I tell you what I really wish we could have seen the fall out from that!!!
