They have to commit to a rebuild before we can think about that
- Sam67

i will say this though, if I see really solid evidence that Feaster genuinely believes in the "never rebuild" philosophy, I will be fully on board with the people who call for his head daily

Agreed! But I do think he's just toting the company line.

does anyone remember how at last year's deadline, Feaster went on TV in the last game before the deadline and claimed if things didn't "pick up" he would have to make serious changes? then the next day he had to retract that? granted, it was a pretty obvious bluff but I think it might also be evidence of this company line

"Calgary Flames GM Jay Feaster is keeping mum on potential moves by his club, but did acknowledge it is an “organizational decision” not to tear down the current roster and rebuild."
Quote from Elliotte Friedman.

That shows Murray's mitts all over this...And King makes Murray tons of money so I don't think we'll be seeing King go anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah I remember that.

I also heard King speak at a Top Shelf game I went to earlier this year.

His words..."We haven't paid Iggy in and around 60/70M to have him go to another team and help them win a cup"

Soooooo....we have to wait until we get new owners before the Flames will be any good? Is Edwards blind?!?!?!

....seriously though, he's pretty old, he might actually be blind.

That sucks for Calgary, Ithink if done right, a rebuild this year could get enough picks/prospects to be where Edmonton is at, and it took Edmonton 7 years!

Amazing how one of the richest men in Canada, and one of the youngest Billionaires in Canada is totally clueless on how to run a simple hockey team.

Hire the right people, pay them well and let them do their jobs. Don't hire an unemployed newspaperman to be President, an unemployed blogger to be GM, an NBA General Manager as your AGM and the brother of a previous GM to be your Head Scout.

" Ken Holland please... Ken its Murray Edwards, I would like to offer you the President and GM position, you name the price, I will pay it"

So you think feaster is the right gm to take this team through a complete rebuild?
- 10in_soft

It's irrelevant when King is pulling the strings. That said, I like the drafts that Feaster has done. But he has pulled some questionable moves but nothing that has really hurt us.

It was May 4, 2004, the day the Maple Leafs played their last playoff game?

I didn't realize you two were arguing.

Carry on.
