How does feaster have a job (any job) at the nhl level? If the flames dont retool and rebuild now then they surely will have to at the draft. Why not fire feaster today, get a gm your happy with building a team. Feaster will probably make things even worse if he is allowed to blow this team up.

and not everyone will have the assets to trade for Yandle I don't think

My understanding of the Yandle situation is that Phoenix is looking more for a great hockey trade if they trade him, which is a big IF, correct me if I'm wrong - while Calgary would be looking more at futures

- S Kaspar Rollins

Exactly. The trade listed here is more of a hockey trade. 2 roster players for 2 roster players. If Calgary was actually looking more to the future for a trade for JBow, it would make sense. But here they are talking about a hockey trade, and if Blues are going to do that, they should be looking at options that are either younger, less expensive, or better players.

F U C K OFF!!!! You actually think he's the one thats wants to stay the course. Half of you idiot trolls spew out crap and don't have any idea what the fck you're talking about. M Edwards (have you heard of him) is clearly pulling Feasters strings. SO please go back to your sad sack Leafs and ride the wave to the Stanley Cup...

this is assuming the trade listed here is actually plausible, which it isn't

what IS plausible, however, is STL being interested in JBo. They have been strongly linked since last summer

it's worth noting that this is not an uncommon situation, i dont think most GMs have the authority to declare a blowup without the owner signing off on it

I'm really impressed with the way Backlund has been playing, he is going to be a great number 2 centre for us now and in the furure. Definetely our best centremen.

That said, I really hope we continue losing games to wake up ownership. They can't possibly think that by tweaking a few things here and there, that we are a Stanley Cup contender. They've got to stop thinking bandaids are the solution, its time for a permanent fix. I really hope we get a top 5 pick in this years draft, and at the deadline, acquire a few more picks.

I think last summer the rumour was Calgary wanted Rattie and a 1st or Stewart.

they were still fully in "go for it" mentality then and there was no real reason to trade JBo at the time

I think they may lower the price this time

Maybe we should hire Burke 'cause he did such a bang up job.

Oh, I think the Blues would be fools not to be interested in him. JBo is exactly what we need. LHD, can play big minutes, perfect compliment to Petro.

The only thing keeping the Blues from trading for JBo is what he would cost to acquire. We aren't at a point of giving away too many roster players for him. His high salary is a hindrance, not because he isn't worth it, but because it would make him the highest paid player on a team with lots of players due a raise. But I don't think it's such a hindrance the Blues wouldn't go for him.

Last I checked Toronto had a good chance at a playoff spot this year and we don't, just saying

That being said I would trade Gio before JBo. Under Hartley's system JBo has been great. Yes we have one more year at 6.6 but then maybe we could sign him to a Wideman type contract.

At the end of the day I think Widemand was brought in to eventually replace JBo. Flame fans have to be careful what they wish for. I believe we will miss his 24 - 30 minutes a night huge.

I think it's distinctly possible, though, that Feaster will have to talk Edwards into a blowup, as others allude to. that's where the question of Feaster's competence comes in. As of now we have no clear idea of what he's thinking

Yea, FINALLY.....

Do you want to wait 5 years for the playoffs again? I just love a guy who has cheered for a team that hasn't seenthe PO in ....forever (it seems) is giving advise as to what we should be doing with a GM.

I don't know. I always hated the process by which they hired him, and don't think he's that good a GM. I think he's an average GM based on his history and what he's done so far. But it's hard to say because right now there are clearly other people in the process.

They have to commit to a rebuild before we can think about that
