THEY'RE MOVING TO BROOKLYN IN 2 YEARS IF NOT SOONER!!! IT'S ALREADY DONE!!! WHY IS THERE ANY MENTION OF KANSAS CITY?!?! STUPID!!! - Save_Us_John
It's an example of years past... what a free agent might think of moving to the Isles.
Not to mention that sh@thole they play in.
I think you misread or maybe I didn't explain myself well enough!!! |

They will never get Perry...he's going to want more money than JT and the Islanders will not pay anyone more than JT...I think his salary is $6 million next year... - kear20
Why would they not pay anybody more than JT... where did you read this. |

I hope both Strome and Reinhart are playing for the Isles next year.
I think Strome would be fantastic on JT's wing.
I would trade Nino... but I don't think he is worth much right now.

You will know by tomorrow what Snow thinks of Nino...I think they trade him for a defenseman or maybe a forward like Ryan Clowe and hope they resign him before free agency.... |

Tavares is the franchise...whatever he is making they won't go more than that...plain and simple... |

in theory hes great!!!! (except for still thinking of putting KO in the touchable class)
in practicality, NONE of those proposed trades would be approved by the other team. |

There are no "untouchables" on the Isles or in their system outside of JT and maybe Hamonic (the team's best d-man and a guy you are apparently open to moving). Anybody can be and should be considered to be moved in the right deal.
You're not going to get guys like Corey Perry for a package of players you don't want, i.e. Kyle Okposo, Josh Bailey, Frans Nielsen and some prospects. Nielsen has some trade value, guys like KO and Bailey have absolutely none. Do you really think Anaheim is going to trade a former league MVP like Corey Perry for a combination of players like Nielsen, Bailey, KO, Reasoner? And you're certainly not going to get a Jack Johnson for that same package of crap simply because you'll be willing to take Dubinsky's bad contract as well (which we know Wang won't do)
You have to give to get. You also have to target players that can actually be acquired rather than pending UFA's like Perry. No way Perry foregoes free agency to sign with the Islanders long-term. - Jethro09

The only player they might go more than JT is if they make a trade for Ovechkin...he will bring "fannies" in seats when they get to Brooklyn... |

Okposo has a ton of value contract wise. Maybe another coach can get him to change his game a little bit and get more out of him. Besides, if Perry is just a rental, why would anyone give up more than 1 or 2 assests.
As for Columbus, if they can take that poop deal they did for Nash, then what we're offering is a dream!
And, did you really just call Hamonic our BEST defensemen?!?! Are you insane?!?!? First of all, that's like being the tallest midget in a room. Our defense is terrible, himself included. He never knows where the puck is, can't move anyone from in front of the net, oh and is a -13, 2nd worst to his partner MacDonald. You obviously do not watch any games. - Save_Us_John
everything you said is true...you just never said who you believe the best defenseman on the team is....? |

Actually, if you read, it would be getting rid of Nielsen, Bailey, Okposo, Reasoner (if anyone wanted him), Hamonic, Nilsson, and some draft picks thrown in. If Perry is a rental, you're not giving Anaheim much in the player sense. Sending guys like Okposo, Bailey, Hamonic, and Nilsson with picks could sure as hell get Tyutin and Johnson. Supposedly the Penguins are close to getting Johnson for 2 prospects and a pick. We would be offering better than that.
And where the hell do you people get your information from?! Visnovsky may not want to be here, but he must be here for the rest of the season at least because he family just moved back with him this week. And as for Streit, he went to the Islanders about extending his contract for the rest of his career. Who said his demands were high?! Supposedly, they're close to extending Nabokov and Streit. Those aren't even from rumor sources like this crap. That's straight from reporters that actually speak to Snow. - Save_Us_John
I dont believe that trio on its own could bring back much.
Hamonic Nielsen and a pick would bring back a good return. So we agree there but why are you giving up on Hamonic?
Streit is asking For a multi year contract @ $5,000,000.00 as reported on NHL TV Network. He wants this to be his final contract so multi yrs would be 4-5. He aint worth it and if he holds to that. He'll be gone.
Johnson is 26 yrs old and maybe their best overall "D". Guys like him dont come along everyday. Why would they part with him for Hamonic and Nielsen?
More importantly. Why would the Isles give up on Hamonic so fast.
Tell me where it says Viz has to remain on LI all season?
I didnt know you were an INSIDER with information privy to Snow and you. I get my information from TSN, NHL TV Network, Internet and XM's NHL Radio. Thats the best I can do.
I'm sure that if we could bring back exceptional talent with the crap your offering. Even Snow would have jumped on it by now.

Just out of curiousity, who would you consider 'a real reporter' in this case? It's pretty well known that Snow tipped his hand to NO ONE. They'd leak bits and pieces to Strang but that ship's obviously sailed. Staple know's nothing but is probably the most connected of the bunch. He reported that Streit was looking for 3-4 years. Frankly that's more than I'm willing to invest for a one dimensional dman at his age if the price is anywhere near his current price tag.
As for Vis, moving his family to the area in a house the rent means NOTHING in terms of his actually remaining here. I fact, I very seriously doubt you'll see Vis here beyond the deadline let alone after this year. |

I don't think Strome is the answer at wing on the 1st line. We need a physical banger who can also create opportunities. 'Physical' and 'Banger' are not two terms we'll hear in regards to Strome. He's an elite skilled puck mover with great offensive skill. That first line needs a power forward. |
