Any trade of any significance, like more than a depth d-man or 4th liner, is going to invovleeither Frolik or one of the hawks impending FA's (who they don't believe will fit undernext year's cap—like Leddy or more likely Stalberg—going the other way. I have heard Stalberg is being shopped. I heard Leddy was offered for Lehner over the summer. - John Jaeckel
Stalberg fits the Ottawa profile, he has decent size, good speed and nice finish. Ottawa is a very big and very physical team. Their size and speed makes a great deal of work for other teams. Stalberg would be very effective getting top 6 minutes and money in Ottawa.
Leddy is also a nice piece and plays a style that really fits into Ottawa's puck possession pattern.
I believe Ottawa will trade Anderson before Lehner, we just don't know when. At age 21 Lehner is ready to be a #1 in the NHL. If you go on the basis of developmental progression Lehner has improved to be the best at every level he has played. Junior, World Juniors and AHL. If there is any kind of a deal being discussed for Lehner, it would be substantial and probably off season.

No offense, but I'd rather be trolling "other" websites when doing something along those lines.
Doing that here is kinda of creepy, and disgusting. |

Kulemin would make a ton of sense. After his less than impressive year last year after signing his contract he really fell into a more defensive role. He may need a change of scenery to bring that offence back up. Playing on a line with Toews and Hossa would definitely do that.
He has $2.8 mil this year and next and plays the right position to fit in Chicago, LW. Also, 4th in the team in hits only behind Komarov, Fraser and Phaneuf.
It would spell the end of Stalberg however as that salary would have been attributed to him in the off-season, if not more. |

And what would JJ the GM be able to pull off with OTT in acquiring Anderson?

Not Leddy unless it's beyond a doubt he can't be resigned.
Otherwise, a 1st or 2nd and one of the better prospects.
Somebody mentioned McNeill and a 1st, I'd do that.
Not Stalberg since trading a pending ufa for Clarkson defeats the purpose of the trade from New Jersey's perspective. |

Eh.
I'd take the 30th overall though. Small price to pay for another Cup. |

Not necessarily, depends on the contract demands of each player, and how each fits into the long term plans of either team.
Hawks are also pretty deep in "quality" (though not elite outside Teravainen) forward prospects.

If we deal Leddy, who from Rockford is the puck-moving dman who comes up to take his spot? - hockey nut 28
Why would it have to be someone from Rockford? Could be another D-man in the league (Visnovsky, for example). |

There really is no established market price for goaltenders right now - Gillis can't move Luongo; Murray would have moved Bishop earlier when Ottawa was hit by injuries if he could have helped his team upfront or on D; LA hasn't traded Bernier maybe because nobody knows what he's worth; Im sure Anaheim would move Hiller's contract now that they have Rasth. What's Ryan Miller worth the way he's playing?

Jesus boys, buy a version of NHL 13 and go enjoy yourselves. That's about the only place 95% of these proposals fly.

My opinion is that Leddy is priority #1 this off-season and won't be dealt. My theory is they put up with his growing pains so that they may have a super-talented, young, puck-mover signed to a reasonable contract as he blossoms into a special player. That and he was a "win" trade with MN, and I think he will be here for a while. JMO. - Kentxo
