Ott would be a solid pick up for sure. An excellent bottom 6 forward and makes the Blackhawks instantly much more difficult to play against. - DarthKane
Bottom 6? I'd park him on the left side with Toews & Hossa. |

That'd be a (frank)ing waste considering he's excellent on the dot. |

Just because he's lining up on the left side doesn't mean he can't be stuck into a given situation to take faceoffs. |

Regurgitating a Hockeyy Insiderr post as actual news = Bad
Posting a Hockeyy Insiderr post as a ridiculous and/or humorous topic AND identifying it as such = OK

I said it once, Ill say it again.
Trading for Ott makes sense on many levels.
C'mon Stan make it happen! - Hawkster
People are already pissed at management and don't think they know what they are doing. How would it look if they trade ott already after trading roy for him in the summer? He would be a great add, though. Buff does have soom good young talent I figure they will build around. I would like to get Foligno, though. |

How would it look to fans if they just held on to everything and said "wait until next year?" |

Depends on what you're sending with Frolik. If Buffalo wants a 1st or McNeill (or both) to go with it, do the Hawks do it?
Side note: I just looked up Frolik's buyout for this summer. $750,000 cap hit next year, $316,667 cap hit the season after. - EKolb13
I doubt Frolik will be bought out, Monty and Olesz will be bought out first. Frolik may be over paid but he does bring something to the team.
There's an outside chance Frolik may be tradable this summer. For a team looking to get to the cap floor he may work and he has only 1 year left on his deal. That's being said, I won't be disappointed if #67 is on our roster next year. |

Imagine a 3rd line of Bolland-Ott-Shaw in the playoffs...damn! Bolland could play center but Ott takes the draws. Q would just have to tell Sharp to suck it up and play centre on the 2nd line. |

Stan had better be on the phone with Buffalo eeeeeemeeeeeediately about Ott. He checks all of the boxes.
A good GM would find a way to make that deal. Plenty of assets from roster guys to prospects to offer. Very few teams have the depth to work with that Stan does.
But I digress....
"We like our team" - Return of the Roar
you act like it's the equivalent of Jay Feaster saying "we like out team"... and.... um.... it's not.

The old Stadium back in the early to late 80's was a death wish for fans of the other team....
Fights almost every night....And when the combatants got done with each other the off duty Chgo cops, who were the security back then, would finsh their night off really well....
They would bring folks into the basement, which had rats the size of small cats....Leading to the basement was a long flight of stairs....
Once the door closed many of the boys were launched down the stairs, with their hands handcuffed behind their back....Allegedly.

The key word here: Allegedly
Two of my cuz's worked security at the barn dating back to the late 60's and into the 80's. But the only thing I can confirm on your statement though IS the size of the rats. |

Talked with an old friend who works in the Buffalo News sports department and he's heard The Sabres are about to blow it up. Take it for what it's worth. - UnnamedSource
If that's true I have two words:
STEVE OTT |
|
|
|
There might be more to the Ott storyline. I witnessed him trash talking a 9 or 10 year old while he was in the pbox. And Ott started it. All the kid did was look at a hockey player in the penalty box sitting next to him. Kid never said a word. Ott taunted him loudly and scared the shyt out of the kid. Kids dad was hot but kept his wits about him. The most classless thing I have ever seen at a hockey game, and that's saying something. Maybe Buffalo has a chemistry problem in the room. And if they do, my guess is Ott has something to do with it. I know he checks a lot of boxes for all us fans, but I suspect there's more to it. Based on what I actually witnessed, I say pass on Ott. |

What game was this? Were you at the game or did it show up on camera? Cuz things like that could be just a bad day kinda of thing or a symptom of something bigger. |

Dallas game at the UC about 5 or 6 years ago. I was 10 feet away. Saw and heard the whole thing. Couldn't believe it. I have been watching, playing, coaching, working the game for 50 years. I was a total rink rat years ago and I still love the game. It was the most disgusting classless thing I have ever seen at a hockey game. |

I'd be more concerned about something that happened this season vs 5-6 years ago. Just sayin'....
Now, if this occurred several times since, then there's more to it.

I'd only care if it were a recurring situation. A one-time thing? Doesn't matter.
I'm on record for wanting this guy in the Indian Head Sweater for all the things he can bring to the team, including a better shot at the cup than without him. |

How many years is OTT under contract for ? I would only do it if Ott is not a rental. I thought Ott was on year 2 of a 2 year contract. |
