I dont understand why some are so skeptical of Hayes. While there are some holes in his game, he did a lot of positive when he was called up. Got to the front of the net, potted a couple goals, and showed his effectiveness below the goal line. His D was not perfect but neither is Sharp's or Kane's. My point is this, he's a big body and will help free up consistent space for our hottest player right now. Hate to break this out, but Hayes was better in his first call up then Saad was.

No

edit: I should be more clear

Hayes had more finish straight away then cooled

Saad started slow but is now on a point streak, skates better, skates stronger, get rubbed off more than I would like but not knocked on his ass, way better in the defensive zone

Two different kinds of players and Hayes "freeing up space" is predicated on staying on skates and off ass and Bolland winning draws consistantly. Dunno how likely both are...

I mostly agree with your assessment.

And to add to it... neither guy deserves a regular spot on this Hawks roster.

Wow!

Shaniban actually does his job and gives a star player the business.

Is this a sign of the end of the world?

The old Stadium back in the early to late 80's was a death wish for fans of the other team....

Fights almost every night....And when the combatants got done with each other the off duty Chgo cops, who were the security back then, would finsh their night off really well....

They would bring folks into the basement, which had rats the size of small cats....Leading to the basement was a long flight of stairs....

Once the door closed many of the boys were launched down the stairs, with their hands handcuffed behind their back....Allegedly.

according to EK, and has been talked about before................well let's just put it this way, "the wings would just love to stick it in the hawks arse and rub dog crap all over their faces by trading for either buff or brian campbell. just curious what the wings THINK they are going to give either the jets or panthers for either of these guys.
- wonthecup10

I couldn't care less, and I don't think the Hawks would either...they're going east next year...

...buh bye.

Sounds like a scene out of the '68 Democratic convention....i remember watching games on t.v. from the Stadium and fights would break out and you'd see both benches stand up to watch...and you'd hear fans reacting to landed blows with bloodthirsty passion.

Found a Stadium brawl in the stands from '82

If those stairs and basement could talk. There was a little office across the hall from the Zamboni in the old building where the security guys used to hang out after the game. If you were exiting the northwest corner of the building 1/2 the time you would see a security guy soaking his hand in a bucket of ice. If you wanted to start trouble you didn't have far to look. When there was a Boston or Philly game on a sunday night after a Bears afternoon game it was usually a mess. And if the hockey game got one sided in the third period, look out. Game on for the drunken idiots.

Reminds me of a joke - How many (in this case off duty) Chicago cops does it take to push a man down a flight of stairs? None. He fell...

Iginla and a 3rd for Teravainen, Saad and a 1st (which would probably be the 30th pick overall)

Good post RJ....and pretty much what i hear as well. Bet some of our guys could write a nice little book on their experiences in Philly.

I've been to Boston (Fleet Center), Long Island (Nasseau Coliseum), Newark (the Pru) with my Hawks jersey on and never had much problems. Boston got a little crazy at one point but I was with 4 brother-in-laws (all Bruin fans), so I said you have to get in line cause I have to fight all them first. I little humor always defuses a crisis! Bears jerseys in Boston for Patriots games and at Giant and Jets games. And Cubs Jerseys in Shea and Yankee stadium. Love to were the colors on the road!!!

The biggest rivalry during that time was with the North Stars. I had friends/business associates at that time who were tied into the Noth Stars franchise.

I would go up there 2 or 3 times a year for a game and one Sunday they came down here.

There was one guy who was loud mouth when he didn't drink, and when he did ....trouble.

I told them to not cheer too loud when the Stars scored, I also said the last thing to do would be to stand up after a goal.

They were sitting across from me in the Mezz in the opposite corner.

The Stars scored and the loud mouth jumped up clapping and laughing...

Within about 20 seconds he had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at him and numerous guys trying to take a shot at him.

They never stood up again and never returned to the Chicago Stadium.

I remember a Hawks season ticket holder, who would wear the star player of the team we were playing that night's jersey every game. He always got a little verbal abuse but we would always defend him if it wasn't someone who was at every game and thought he was for the other team! I think his old man owned a sports store. Fun times in the late 80's at the stadium though!!!

Per Hockeyinsiderr

Looks like the Bruins don't want to extend Horton. He'll either be traded or hit the FA market in the summer. Going to be a deep draft followed by a deep free agency.

FYI, the guy is a fraud. It's been proven by numerous LEGIT people (Alan Walsh, yahoo sports, etc). If you want to read his crap please do so, but don't post it here.

I remember that. That caused a lot of confusion on opening day of free agency. Crap coming from the likes of him should never be posted in here.

Noted for the future. Just saying I've seen people post his poop here before.

I guess we can resume talking about what line Saad belongs on and our building of the ultimate NHL 13 fantasy team starring Jarome Iginla.

Given the deification of Ladd and Buff, I'm not sure I agree with this.
