If the Hawks got him, it would likely be a move for the sake of making a move, which is pointless. Marcel Goc or Smithson on the other hand are the guys I'd be looking at as available bottom 6 players from that club.

As long as Bowman can acquire someone who can take big faceoffs and kill penalties, I'll be happy.

The killing penalty thing is way down on my list.....I agree on the face offs though...and someone who can park it in front of the net on the pp.

offending is the opposite of defending......actually the kneel before Saad can be traced back to the Mac & Spiegs show....

Its funny....nothing about that picture was "religious " but yet its offending. ...what a dic bag

How good would it be to have Bergeron as our 2nd line center

Awesome! That's how good it would be. That's only going to happen in NHL '13.

Forgot to tell you...save the date...7/1/2014 I'll be hosting a Bollus day party. When some poor sap team over pays for that guy's services. An impromptu Bolllus Day could happen this summer if Bowman has the nuts to deal him....
- SteveRain

Good thing I had finished my cup of coffee before I sat down to check the board!
Guaranteed would have spit it up all over my laptop.

I think you and I are the only guys calling Bolland Bolus (or Bollus); do you recall the whole medical dictionary-tinged conversation about what a bolus is?

Well, the Hawks would be nuts to re-up him for more than he's making given his injury history and lack of production. You'd think if the guy was REALLY serious, he'd have done some work on faceoffs in the long offseason.

But nope -- he's no better and in fact might be worse than last year. How many PP draws has he lost this year, and once done, eat up 30 sec of clock?

You know, for as much crap as Kane has taken on this board, I give the guy all the props in the world. He goes overseas to Switzerland to keep his skills sharp and it has paid off. And it's also clear he has worked again on his shot as evidenced by some of the wicked goals he's scored this year. At least the guy seems to be committed and shows proof that he's committed and done the work.

Bolland, not so much, if at all.

I really don't care about all his playoff hype -- need to see the guy really improve at the dot but that has not happened and certainly won't this year.

Please invite me to the Bollus party, OK?

I wouldn't mind having someone who could do that too.

Keith could play better...but I wouldn't look to trade him.

Interesting stat...who leads the team in givaways - Seabrook with 27. Keith is 2nd with 18. Leddy only has 3 giveaways, albeit with far less ice time.

- DarthKane

Darth,
Thanks for the stats, I haven't had time to look these up but they confirm what the gut and naked eye tells me. Yes, yes, I know they face the top competition -- and have more TOI but I don't think it's the huge chasm that some think it is.

Leddy's 3 giveaways speak to a guy that has simplified his game and is playing within himself and his abilities. The 2 & 7 giveaways are actually scary numbers. A lot of those are UNFORCED errors, like the other night when Seabs put the puck up the left boards with not an Indianhead jersey in sight -- only to be picked off by an Oiler at the line and put in our net.

That's it then, a Bollus party!
I'm telling you guys, if we make it through June and there's a parade, we have to get together a raise a toast.

As far as a group of us getting together, Rockford plays in Rosemont this Sunday. It's a 3 PM start. Anyone interested in going?

I respectfully disagree on Kruger. While his draws are weak and inconsistent, his zone coverage defensively and instinctive play around and behind the net are a big positive from my point of view. I like him at center.

But either way if they are on 4th line together, no doubt Hayes can give you some strength around the other teams goal and compliment Frolik and Kruger well.

Perhaps Hayes gets a shot on the PP?

- TrueGrit

Agree. Hayes can probably chip in on draws (righty) when needed, but overall, SB may be looking for what he can bring to the 4th. And in front of the net on the PP--he will park there more than most currently on the roster.

I still believe tweaking the 4th line (again) may be the smartest way to improve the club. We'll see in the next couple of weeks.

Actually is one of my strengths. I think both Shaw and Kruger are getting as many draws as possible as part of a learning curve. Winning draws is both art and science. Experience is huge and learning techniques and others tendencies will pay dividends later.

Both Kruger and Shaw are survivor like, they will figure it out. Maybe not fast enough for many fans, but would not doubt that it is an organizational decision to send those guys out there and figure it out a bit.

- TrueGrit

Do you play center too? It sounds like it. Draws are definitely a cat & mouse game...and then there are those nights that the dude you crushed 2 weeks earlier at the dot hands it right back to you...

It doesn't surprise me people were whining and crying about Jesus/Saad name......some people had a hard time with the Krugman nickname for Marcus Kruger because it was against political beliefs.....proves a lot of people need a hobby or two.
