Ok, it's not really pushing a religious agenda. This goes back to a post last week about Saad being equated to Jesus. It's meant to be humorous, nothing more.

Anyways, Jesus holding a shotgun isn't the message of Christianity. Unless you live in Texas. I'm pretty sure that fits there.

In the future I'll make sure to include a few more 's to make sure my goofy points come across the right way

Hawkswin does have a point. The thread should be free of religious and political posts.

On a totally unrelated subject, I wanted an opinion from you guys. When we were at the game on Sunday, we kept getting dirty looks from an older (than me, anyway) gent and his very young (probably 5 or 6) year old granddaughter any time we might step out of...shall we say proper English? I say, it's an effing hockey game and you have to expect that kind of language in the stands, particularly since during the first period they were getting their a$$es handed to them.

What do you say, boys? Should we censor cause some people bring their kids to the game?

I believe some here may be underestimating the absolute hatred the BH front office has for Neil Sheehy. Also, if Crow and Razor cannot bail out the D when they are playing bad (like the last 2 games) something will need to be done eventually. I would really hate to see Leddy go with the strides he has made since last year but this is a real possibility.

Knowing management believes they are close this year we may actually see Bowman be aggressive (for a change) approaching the deadline... whether this is a good or bad thing is hard to say.

Please stop the Pominville talk. He would bring nothing to this lineup.

Also, Bishop would not be an upgrade. Lehner yes!

Maybe a Leddy/Stalberg for Lehner/Z Smith? We have got to find someone who can win faceoffs other than Toews.

Also, I really cannot see why the Hawks think Krueger is untouchable. A lot of heart but if the right deal was there move him. Say Krueger for Visnovsky if Leddy goes?

I watch my mouth around kids and old people. I would expect the same respect. Not a huge deal, but a kid should be able to go to a game without getting educated on the finer parts of the English lanquage. I can see a point for both views though, but I would be a little upset taking my 8 and 4 year old to a game and having someone throw profanity around every few seconds.

Myself, I try to watch my language when there are young children within earshot of me. I find it important that young children (under the age of 13) shouldn't be subjected to that. Also, games are advertised as being a "family oriented entertainment." They should be treated as such.

However, if it's just a group of adults griping and there are no children involved, that's their own effing problem, and can go stick it in their ass.

Dubi spent time as #1 center with rags, plays a 2 way game. Think he would fit better than Brassard

Anybody get a chance to see Garrett Ross play this year?... looks like maybe another 5th round gem.

Ross has had an unbelievable season for Saginaw. He’s nearly doubled his offensive numbers from last season. In 59 games, Ross has posted 43 goals and 45 assists for 88 points. He’s also a plus-30 and has 112 penalty minutes.

In 60 games last season, Ross had 25 goals and 29 assists for 54 points, and was a plus-13. Obviously he’d be expected to improve on those stats in his overager season, with an increased role, but he’s done more than anyone expected.

At 6-1 and 185 pounds, Ross is a left winger in the same mold as Andrew Shaw. Ross turns 21 on May 26th.

The Blackhawks picked up Ross as a 20-year old in the 2012 Draft, selecting him in the 5th round with the 139th selection overall – the same exact pick Chicago used to draft Andrew Shaw (also 20 at the time) in the draft the year prior.

Yeah, gotta agree with this sentiment.

I can still remember, all these years later, going to a Bears game with my Dad at Wrigley against SF. Guy sitting just the row in front of us had a flask, of course it was cold and I was really scared because this guy not only got drunk beyond drunk, but every other word out of his mouth was a swear word. I cringed with every play that went against the Bears because the stream of profanity was beyond comprehension.

To say it bothered me -- yeah -- because if I can recount the story today, I know it had an impact on me.

If you're out with buddies at a bar and there's not kids around, that might be OK but in a setting like the UC, I'd say no -- really -- even now with my kids as young adults, I really cringe when we've gone to games and people make a$$es of themselves.

I think religious or political satire is ok when you are relating to a point being made in the blog.

Lifelong Catholic who attended Catholic school and University and I found that post hilarious. If you cannot separate humor from someone really trying to offend your beliefs then maybe you need to lighten up a bit. And I am saying "you" as in "you". I am using the royal "you".

Now back to hockey talk. Personally, I want Iginla and another C.

Dubinsky makes too much $$, Clarkson is a nice player but is a right wing...

I can't connect the dots on either.

Why is everyone so quick to think we should offer up Leddy in a potential trade? Look at how much he has improved from last season and then remember the guy is only 21 years old. Everybody's biggest criticism of him is always that he gets muscled off of pucks and it still happens to him, but it has been happening far less often this season than it did last season. The time in AHL during the lockout did his overall game wonders. I don't think he has come even close to hitting his ceiling yet as a player and I think it would be foolish to trade him right now when we can't be sure of his potential upside if he continues to improve. I think we need to keep Leddy, because he was basically our replacement for the Brian Campbell type puck mover long term, and he's starting to reach that potential.

Garrett Ross was the player that was mic'd up during prospect camp challenging people to fights. He eventually would get into one with Chris Martin ( Not the lead singer of Coldplay, but a prospect named Chris Martin.) Nice to see he's having a good year. A lot of people thought last year's stats because he was collecting points playing with Saad. Hopefully he keeps advancing.

Agreed.

However, as humorous as it can be (and that one was, in my opinion) it tends to create a snowball rolling down the hill type effect. One Humorous post or idea that relates to politics (or in this case, religion) has become a war of differing opinions in the past.

What do you see Leddy topping out at? Top pairing or second pairing?
In your opinion what average yearly max salary do you think the Hawks should pay him next year? If anyone offers him crazy money, what kind of compensation do the Hawks receive if they do not match? Is it wiser to trade him now or in the offseason in your opinion for maximum return.

and that experiment was a tire fire in NY.

basically worked his way down to a 3rd line winger/3C before he got shipped out of NY

Very much a blue collar player with not much offensive skill or upside. His production was more of a result of hard work and grit.

Thats great and all, and what we are looking for, but not for 4.2 mil and another couple of years

I was at a Sacramento Kings game a few weeks back (vs Utah Jazz). The Jazz have a guy on their team, Enis Kanter. My buddy, who has owned season tix in the nutSac since 87, has seats 5 rows off the court. He was calling him Penis Cancer, instead of Enis Kanter. Funny stuff. (not that cancer is a joke...)

What we didn't realize was the kid sitting in front of us was asking his dad why my buddy was calling him that. You could tell the old man was uncomfortable explaining to the young pup how his first name sounds like penis
