Globe and mail article. Some guy wrote an analytical paper about advanced statistics. Says that because the Leafs give up too many shots and their shooting % is too high they we ging to have a rough ride in the 2nd half. Paper says leafs aren't one of he better offensive teams and are living off exceptionally high shooting%, it cannot continue.
It seems to ignore that the leafs over several years were a good offensive team and that their pp and pk has improved from the 1st half to the 2nd.....
As for steen vs Crosby, another analytical advanced stats paper says that steen is most productive player the last 2 years. - burn
Kunitz is 2 goals behind in the Richard trophy race and is 3rd in overall scoring, I bet i know who'd he rank the more productive player

Huh?
I said trade Grabo not Mac. So you end up with Bozak, Kadri and McClement and Steckel. Usually when the word trade is mentioned, one assumes a player is coming back... I would assume it would be for another centre no..... silly pants! - Captain_Quiffe
So we're going to trade Grabo for a center? Why not just keep him and replace Macs ice time with some of the many wingers we already have? Trading Grabo is going to be for picks/prospects. No team out of the playoffs is going to be adding players at this point, and no team in the playoffs is going to give up a better center than Grabo.
We should be trying to move on from those two this summer...I hope Nonis doesn't sign them, but im hearing/reading otherwise. Time to move on from these guys. Find younger and cheaper replacements in our own system and see what happens in the UFA market. Im saving money and roster space and going balls out to sign Clarkson and Perry this summer, If I were Nonis.
Toughness, skill, leadership, size, playoff experience all from two guys. - systemtool
I like Nonis and am pretty sure he's got a good game plan heading into the off season...I don't think either of those guys are a part of it...He's got his hands full with Phil and Dion needing new deals as well...

I don't blame him, that was a poor display of officiating in the third period and OT, Neal alone should have had 3 penalties but that is the way it goes it seems.

It looks like Nonis isn't to concerned about trading anyone...He seems to think he'll have no problem resigning Mac and Bozak if the Leafs decided to go that route during the off season... - Flyfreaky
I really hope not, unless Grabo is being moved.
Bozak is not a true number 1 center.
I knew this shortened season would have people fooled into believing the leafs are better than they actually are.

oh i know.. i was far worse watching it myself lol
i just thought it was also a reasonable response to the idea of resigning bozak and mac lol
serviceable players mind you.. i just think they have hit the points in their careers where they will simply get too much money

I hope that rumour is false. - Fakepartofme
I think he'd rather let them walk then move them for much less than they're worth...I'd rather see them play out this season and playoff with this current squad than make stupid trades...

I hate Neal... - Flyfreaky
The funniest part was the ref going out of his way and ignoring the on going play to get Crosby's helmet in the Leafs end and bringing it to the Pens bench so he could play before the 3rd period would end, unreal.

Part of the good etiquette clause in their contract...

I cant see Nonis making a stupid trade that would make the team worse.
I'm all for trading peeps, dont care who they are, as long as it improves the team now and going forward.

slippery slope though, no? i believe Edmonton has been riding the same theory for a few years. obviously the Leafs have way more veteran talent though...

Phil and Dion arent a major concern at the moment, at least not in the sense that they're the main focus and rush in the order of things.

It can be, but its not a major risk to lose a guy like MacArthur when you already have Frattin, Lupul, JVR, Kessel, Kulemin, Komarov etc in the top 9. Then on top of that, have a need to add more size and physicality to their top 9.

I was surprised they didn't have an extra helmet laying around for the best player in the game who's had a massive concussion

Probably do but the play has to stop for the equipment guy to go get it I believe since the hallway to the dressing room is at the corner of the rink. - LeafMan
Shove some useless tits helmet on him if they're that desperate Joe Vitale doesn't need it anyways
