Actually its like trading second line players. Thats where simmonds and schenn would play. Hemsky would be first line in philly. Edmontons need for left dman is hurt with this as n shult shoots left. And schenn is right. Line 1hall nuge eberle. Line 2 yak gagner simmonds. Line 3 brown schenn pajarvi. Line 4 petrell horcoff jones. Extra ryan smyth - Joshc
Read my previous post. Simmonds would be first line in edmonton btw..

Either way its ok to have wishful thinking. Sure the trade is lop sided a bit but you never know. Since tambi is sitten on his hands in some cofee shop probably anyways - Joshc
a bit lop sided??
To Edmonton: Crosby
To Pitts: Belanger
The Oilers continue to be stupid with the development of their younger players. If you're named Nuge, Hall, Eberle, Schultz or Gagner, you get ice time. They've earned it, so there's no knocking them. But guys like Paajarvi, Yakupov and Hartikainen seem to need to beg for it. I hope the Oilers don't screw these kids up by playing crusty old veterans ahead of them for no good reason.

Gee Richie, you really think good development is having an entire line up of green horns no matter what their talent level is?
That to me is "stupid" development. That is what the AHL is for. Like it or not your team needs that veteran presence on the ice. As you well know, talent alone does not get you a cup, or in the case of the Oilers, anything but another 1st overall pick...
i didn't bother reading the other 5 pages of comments so if this has been addressed, I apologize.
1) Horcoff, whether you like it or not Cloutier, our most complete centre. Gags puts up more points but isn't as reliable defensively. RNH plays a great total game for a teenager, but can't win faceoffs.
2) Horcoff is overpaid. but that doesn't make him a bad player. it only affects the team if it has ever prevented the Oilers from signing somebody. which it hasn't. so why female dog about the contract? it's not your money. and that money isn't tied up to a point where a better player can't be signed.
3) What proof do you have that he isn't a great leader? are you in the dressing room? are you talking to players and finding out that they don't respect him? you can speak to stats and on-ice production but please don't comment on something that clearly none of us outide the room really know anything about.
4) i'm not a Horcoff lover. but I do see his value to the team and considering we aren't up to the Cap limit, why even bring up his contract? it's irrelevant.
