You are 100 percent correct Richard. I spoke with Rick Olczyk a couple of years ago and asked him why on earth did the Oil sign Horc to that awful contract. He told me that no free agents want to come to Edmonton so they had to pay Horcoff because he was willing to stay. Very bad decision!

I'm not sure I would give up much more for him. He's got some size, but doesn't use it nearly as often as he ought to, and he's a horribly inconsistent goal-scorer. I'm not sure that's what I want on our already-crowded right side. If we're trading for him, it's not going to be anything significant going back for him, and until the PFP (Player-for-player) bar gets set post lockout, I won't really know what kind of player package it would take to get him. All we have so far are the (frank)ing "low-end player for a 5th" deals so far.

Ya it's the NOT using his size enough/ lack of killer instinct that backs me off obviously.
Now, if we make a little run and our pick ended being 12th overall...that pick still doesn't seem worth it for a player that presents little jam.

Hmmm, maybe you go Hemsky for Stafford plus another roster player on the Sabres. Even then, I'd rather a Hemsky ++ package for established sandpaper or top four D.

thing is theyre making a run. cant see them dealing stewart (or any impact roster player) before the offseason. and by then whitneys either resigned or gone.

bob mckenzie stated ideally the blues want to add a left handed top 4 d-man. how credible? i don't know. but with peitrieangelo seeking doughty-like paycheck, shattenkirk seeking $4-5m and berglund seeking backes-like money...blues will have to pay attention to their cap.
