Why would St-Louis want to unload Stewart? 26pts in 27 games, lead the team in points and goals. He is a RFA after this season and the Blues will have 33M in cap space.

He won't win the Norris but he will get a long term deal like Pacs and Price, should keep his cap hit between 5 and 6M, hopefully closer to 5M.

Ya exactly. He has consistency issues.

Plus he has value and Dreger says Blues want a defensemen. Something the habs do not have the luxury of giving up. The only name the Blues would like to hear would be Subban I'm sure.

We have some depth on D.

Beaulieu, Tinordi, Diaz could all be packaged without a huge impact on the Habs blueline depth
