True...but some RFA have different strategies...shorter contracts to become UFAs sooner...

I think the fact that he's come from ECHL and worked his way up makes him less greedy and he just wanted the stability and to remain a hab...which factored into his decision to accept a bit less money and a year or two more.

Lupul (forearm) was limited at practice Wednesday, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.
Recommendation: Lupul's forearm was broken by a slapshot from teammate Dion Phaneuf during a game against the Penguins on January 23. Although it's a good sign that he's practicing, Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle cautioned that it would be unwise to rush Lupul back into the lineup before he's fully ready.

not toast, but still no room for a BIG UFA this year. Avg of 2 mil per for those 5 players, if it is less then great, but they will also want a salary buffer incase they need to add someone later next year. And that 12 mil is assuming Kaberle is gone.
