last summer I had this office char I didn't want anymore so I rolled it out and threw in two busted CD shelves.

5 minutes later I saw to foreigners arguing over the busted shelves. the chair lasted a few hours before someone grabbed it.

Busted an already half-busted dresser while moving last summer, so I put it out with the five drawers.

Came back 20min later and only 3 drawers were left, but the dresser was still there.

they also stole a 6x6 painting (feet...not inches)...so clearly they weren't worried about being seen...they were after "VALUE"...joke's on them the painting (although very nice) was not worth much...it was one of my ex-wife's creation (that, along with misery)...

Put it out the night before garbage pickup. Someone with a truck will pick it up before midnight. I have put out busted flat screen TVs, broken stereo equipment, office chairs, furniture I didn't want anymore...none of it lived to see pickup the next morning.

Sure.. Money is the root of all evil.. I use money for small things i need but i plan on living without much money at all. People are greedy plain and simple. Maybe the person who needs hay should offer the guy something he needs instead of apples. I think the problem is that people are too needy.. they want all this crap they dont need, which in return creates a market for resources, which gives people jobs, which gives people purchasing power, which just completes they cycle. I discovered when i was happier having less.
