Montreal?

No way.

You don't think a second team in Mtl would still bring more fans to the rink than many US teams?

Montreal, No

Toronoto, in theory yes but would take a very long time to build a fan base, it will just be the thing to do for those that cant get leaf tickets

- hamiltonhabfan

Oh...so good bye Buffalo.

I don't think the fan base is an issue for either.

I think the corporate support is.

the habs pretty much tapped it all out.

- dt99999

yes and no, most corprorate sponsors have a direct competitor that would take the other in a flash

I'm not sure they'd get people to "leave the habs" for the new team...

They gave to Québec a team with blue-and-white jerseys with fleurs-de-lys on them the year a separatist government won a majority for the first time. Lol.

c'est les CANADIENS DE MONTREAL !!!!

I don't see it working...pour mille et 1 raison...sure there are some arguments for it, numbers ect...but I just don't see it working in real life.

That's what I think too. Plus many would buy tickets or a loge for both. They have too many customer/suppliers to satisfy them all with only one loge at the Bell Centre.

No.

1 bad season last year and the seats were never full.

Another franchise would fail just as much as Junior Hockey always failed in Montreal.

Oh I agree it won't happen. We're just talking. But it would certainly be profitable.

If they played elsewhere than in the Auditorium de Verdun, they might have had a chance to survive.

Same thing than the Expos. A stadium in downtown Montreal might have saved them.
