Doubt it, if they called him up, it's that they expect him to play a good amount of minutes. They won't screw around with him, just like they won't bench Galchenyuk or Gallagher. They need to think about the future too, not just about winning the game.

why would Tinordi get any different of a look than Pateryn?

They are in a position to do it.

They're not exactly fighting for a playoff spot at the moment. Might as well use that cushion to prepare themselves for the playoffs.

- Pecafan Fan

It makes a little too much sense.

So...Habs lose to the Devils?

Oh hey, Alex! Patrick Stefan, nice to meet you. Yes, I do know Doug. We met through our mutual friends Gord Kluzak and Brian Lawton.

This was my thinking as well.
But hey, maybe it gives them an idea of his progress and he gets a taste.

- hscesq

Also, what if Tinordi does well, and knowing what he brings to the table, what do we do with a healthy Diaz back? Send Tinordi back to AHL? Replace his (hypothetical at this point) physical play with Diaz's skill set?

It'll be interesting to see what this all means in the big picture...

u mean before Boston even drafted him.

He missed half of the 1981–82 season and entire 1982 playoffs after he tore ligaments in his left knee in a game against the Medicine Hat Tigers on Feb. 9, 1982, which would be the first of many knee problems for Kluzak.

The injury did not hurt his draft placement however, as he was rated as the No. 3 overall prospect and the No. 2 WHL prospect for the 1982 NHL draft by The Hockey News

Howard, the rank at which a player is chosen usually gives you a good idea of what kind of player he is, but it doesn't give you the whole story. I base my opinion on what I've seen them do on the ice, first and foremost.

You disagree with me, fine. I respect your opinion, but it doesn't seem that you respect mine.

Because Tinordi is a much better prospect than Pateryn. Seriously, if they play him for 7 minutes, I'd rather see them call back Pateryn right away, that'd be a waste of time for him. He'd be better off in the AHL playing 23+ minutes a night.

I think so yes, no way they keep him around to sit in the pressbox when he could play in Hamilton.

Jesus...

What tells you that Tinordi, Beaulieu, Pateryn, St-denis weren't told "We'll all give you a 3 game tryout with the big club. Be ready." ?

What does it matter? It's only 3 games...

Is there a rush on these things? Start him out slow and see just how ready he is to adjust to the NHL. If he wows then increase the time etc.
