I'm sorry, but there is no way I can agree with this, for the simple reason that it is way too long and I refuse to read it.

I don't disregard it.

The draft ranking tells you about what the player was once drafted.

The 4 years he spent in the NCAA tells you another part of the story.

His play in the AHL and in the NHL tells you what kind of player he is right now.

I didn't say the draft ranking was worth nothing after I said that it gives you a good idea of what kind of player Pateryn was. I said that some players went undrafted and have outplayed 1st rounders, let alone 5th rounders, it happens.

Now I don't think St-Denis will ever be an NHLer, to tell you the truth, yet I'd still feel more comfortable with him than Pateryn on the third pair, because RIGHT NOW, he is more mature.

And that has NOTHING to do with me saying Pateryn wasn't ready last season, but rather with his play in the NHL so far.

No, you said it gives a good idea of what kind of player Pateryn IS.

Le défenseur Jarred Tinordi est rappelé par le Canadien de Montréal.

- Pecafan Fan

Well isn't that interesting. I hope he does well. Will be great to see how he looks. I like the idea of bringing some of these kids in to have a look, gauge them, despite the feeling that it could destroy a guy like Tinordi if he feels he has to drop with a Lucic or someone similar...unless of course he kicks Lucic's ass and then its all WOOOOOO.

We need to draft forwards this season. Kristo,Collberg, Bozon, Hudon, (Leblanc maybe) are only decent prospects. Any others QP? Not counting guys up now.
- AGalchenyuk27

Those are our best options offensively. Bournival doesn't have it in him to be producing much in the NHL. You could add Brady Vail to that list, but I'm not sure about his offensive potential, he'll be more of a third liner if he makes it to the NHL, but I haven't watched him enough to be sure. Hopefully Windsor gets the Memorial cup next year so I get to watch him more

I sure hope they know what they're doing...(so far I have no cause to think otherwise...but still...are we really a 2013 Tinordi away from the cup? if not just burn some other prospects confidence instead... lol.)
- number_23

This was my thinking as well.
But hey, maybe it gives them an idea of his progress and he gets a taste.

Oh hey, Alex! Patrick Stefan, nice to meet you. Yes, I do know Doug. We met through our mutual friends Gord Kluzak and Brian Lawton.

Oh snap..you think they'll play him 2 games of 7 minutes and then call back St-Denis/Beaulieu?
- BashCH

Maybe that's their plan.

See what their current players can give and prepare the trade deadline accordingly?

Doubt it, if they called him up, it's that they expect him to play a good amount of minutes. They won't screw around with him, just like they won't bench Galchenyuk or Gallagher. They need to think about the future too, not just about winning the game.

They are in a position to do it.

They're not exactly fighting for a playoff spot at the moment. Might as well use that cushion to prepare themselves for the playoffs.

He doesn't stand a chance against Lucic. He's not strong enough yet, and he's not a very good fighter for a guy of his size. He needs to develop that aspect of his game too
