Pateryn did not look out of place, but so did St-Denis last year, so let's not get ahead of ourselves. We'll see, but he did leave a positive impression.

Kristo apparently has very good potential, he'll probably have his chance in Hamilton next year, and anyway there's no place for him on the top 9 right now, so if they waited 4 years for him, they can wait some more months.

Do you know who played well yesterday? Dumont.

Totally agree. He was very impressive.

Dude, this is classic stuff. If my location wasn't already the best it could be, I would grab this one in a heartbeat.

Probably? Have you seen the hamilton roster? I think anybody that owns a pair of skate has chances.

I heard they are even open to renting skates now.

And they would have this confidence in a guy that went undrafted, or a guy that also hasn't played a game in the NHL. Makes sense.
- hscesq

The guy that went Undrafted is 26 and has much more games under his belt. Pateryn is in his first pro season.

Well, it's a given that they'll offer him a contract, but apparently he wasn't 100% sure he wanted to jump in the pros, so I think it'll depend on him.

- QuebecPride

So, there is a caveat to your draft position theory. If the undrafted player is older, then his draft position is no longer relevant. I get that right?

And what pro season is the other guy you want to bring up?

Well, the problem is, you want him up instead of another guy who WAS drafted. If you use the other guy's draft position as evidence for why he isn't good, then a guy who wasn't drafted AT ALL, can't be a better choice.
- hscesq

There are guys that go undrafted that are better than guys who are 5th rounders. I used the round he was drafted in, and the number of years it took him to turn pro to show you that, even though he's a guy that could make the NHL one day, he can't be compared to Tinordi who turned pro two years after his draft. They are not in the same category.

The reason why I give the edge to St-Denis have been mentionned in my previous post, but also, St-Denis looked better than Pateryn did, in my own opinion. You can believe what ever you want my friend.

Howard, the rank at which a player is chosen usually gives you a good idea of what kind of player he is, but it doesn't give you the whole story. I base my opinion on what I've seen them do on the ice, first and foremost.

You disagree with me, fine. I respect your opinion, but it doesn't seem that you respect mine.

It has nothing to do with believing. It has to do with you contradicting yourself all over the place, post after post and trying to backpeddle into making us believe that you don't. I really don't care who you like, or how many accents he may have in his name. It just gets tiring after a while.
