I honestly don't think it was all that much to give up... He's only 24yrs old & FAR better than any offensive skill player in this draft (I only have one with a 1st round grade and that's Austin - including all WRs QBs and RBs). The 7th Rounder is worthless... and the mid rounder for next year is no big deal because there are very few roster spots up for grabs on this team as it is.

By the way Lefty... Remember when I told you Wilson would beat out Flynn for the starting job straight away? I think you owe me some props...

I hate it when you're right! .....

Edit: I'm on board now.

It was a fair trade... I didn't need to make it, so I had to get the better of it.

You traded Hossa Dam

Yeah, I have three days this week wherei will have three players on the bench with two spots open on RW, I understand, in this case I'm Gillis and you're every other GM.

Tough to give up Staal, but I got Tlusty and O'Reilly at C for free so Hossa is a nice consolation.

I liked the deal for Scooby, Briere is on the decline IMO but it's not a bad deal if he end sup having a typical season for his standards.

Great addition!! Love his age and the talent he brings, a lot to give up though.

Great day for Hawks fans for sure! Definitely the favourites in the NFC right now.

Did you get my counter offers? I liked your first offer, but IMO I might gain a handful of points but Landeskog gives me all the gritty stats and plus Eberle's shooting percentages last year were unsustainable so I don't think he'll regain that form but he's still a great player.

I'm just looking at them now...I'm not sure? Working a lot right now so don't have a whole lot of time to address these things, but I'll get back to you tomorrow.

What about a deal like Schneider & Edler for Luke Schenn and Couturier? Or something to that effect.

IMO this team can't afford to lose it's best offensive d-man since MG let Ehrhoff walk as well, I don't feel comfortable having Hamhuis or Bieksa as our most offensively skilled d-men. I don't mind moving Schneider at all though, I'd definitely be open to a Schneider-Couturier deal though, with other parts included if need be but I'm not sure if the Flyers would consider it.

Trade Ballard and or Raymond for a Mark Streit or Visnovsky? PP specialist.

If we want value back we will need to trade value. If we trade 3 rd liners we will get 3 rd liners back.

And where do you get one of these top RHD

The only RHD I hear any talk about moving is Komi. You would need to trade something pretty big and I know you don't bekieve we would be trading a core piece.

I'll have one Vancouver might be able to pry in tomorrow's blog.

As he said, he didn't need to make a deal, I did, it costs you something to get what you need, if only the Canucks management could see this...

I look at the overall picture. We have been declining since the big game in Boston .This team has a lot of problems that the goaltending hid under the carpet . I have no problem about a fellow fan debating whether we are in need of changes or we are fine. What drives me crazy is these fukken clowns that start off a statement "No wonder every one eles hates this fan base. It is like this bumhole thinks he is better than all of us . I am above all of you and you are embarassing me. Realy then '(frank) off and go hang with your Mensa pals."

My comments are at Gregg not you Vintage

Ahh you make me laugh you must be insecure if that's how you feel ! That's ok I will pat your head and tell you are a good little boy. Y don't you go frank your self. I say it like it is, fans here panic way to easy. It's like your the main character in a soap opera called the vancouver Canucks. You have issue if you think firing AV and making a drastic change is gonna help this team. I believe in this team and its vision. Just because you hit a few holes doesn't mean you can't dig yourself out. Adversity is the best lesson . You will see this team turn it around and you will eat crow and kiss AV's shoes. You are the reason people have doubt. Get your head out of your ass and start believing in this team. I know they are going to be ok. Do you really wanna miss the playoffs for 3-5 years so we can rebuild? I think that is unacceptable. Have fun in lala land I will save a spot on the bandwagon for yah cause that is the only type of fan you are !

Another reason they could afford to give up these picks is last years draft. They drafted 3 players with 1st round talent in Wagner, Irvin and Wilson. If the draft were this year, Wilson is going top 3. Also, guys like Turbin, Sweezy and Lane made immediate impacts.

This team knows how to find talent in the later rounds.
