Not totally agreeing with you my Oiler friend. If Iggy is truly having a say where he goes, which he would, he would also consider a team he is willing to resign with & has nbeen given permission to discuss terms on an extension. No different than when Flames traded for Widemen & literally signed him the day they announced the trade. Obviously permission was given to discuss extensions & new contracts. I see Iggy doing that for the Flames. People who think we trade & he comes back in e summer are so wrong. Once we trade him, he aint coming back unless it's to be the new asst GM to Conroy

So.... Now what?! We obviously don't have the team that can compete with the big boys (like we didn't already know that....) but does ownership have nads to pick apart this core because I think that's where the decision is really being made.

I was kind of thinking this could help them with their problems though....deal Ryan for Iggy, helps them for their run this year, Iggy becomes a free agent, boom, more room for Anaheim to re-sign Perry. Just a thought anyway.

They aquired their rights prior to UFA season and were able to negotiate with them prior to them becoming Free Agents. That is not tampering at all. The Flames gave up assets to get a head start on negotiations.

They aquired their rights prior to UFA season and were able to negotiate with them prior to them becoming Free Agents. That is not tampering at all. The Flames gave up assets to get a head start on negotiations.

You're missing my point. A sign & trade or trade & sign either way it goes down has to have 3 way communication. Iggy says, " I want to go to Boston or Pitt or Detroit, & the team that acquires me Iwill resign with for 3 or years & I'm looking for 6.0mill per. Negotiations with the 2 GMs & Iggy's gent are done before the trade is announced & has a huge bearing what the return is. I see Iggy doing that is just my point.
