I will say this as bad as things are, it was nice to see that this team has some sort of potential when they want to play.

Not sure why you assume Feaster drafts MacKinon or Drouin. The guy he thought was best in last year's draft was on no one's list.
- Lahey

And what did they Oilers do with two first overall picks? They took the wrong guy both times. Don't tell me that you wouldn't trade Hall and RNH right now for Seguin and Landeskog straight up.

Probably not. RNH is going to be better than the other 3, he just needs to add to his girlish figure.

I like Hall, plays hard and works hard.

I'm definitely cheering for a Flames victory, but lineup to lineup, they match up terribly to LA's forwards. Kipper will have to limit it to only 2 goals against. The good news is that the Kings can definitely be prone to defensive lapses. For a different take and to see who the best like tonight... http://fansunite.com/event/l.nhl.com-2012-e.17040/

...."We have to win..."

No, we have to lose! It should be apparent to most now that this team needs changes. We are 7 points out of 8th spot in the west and sitting on the Oilers chair in the basement. We should be hoping for losses against DET, NSH and DAL as well; whatever it takes to convince Feaster, King, Iggy, Edwards and whoever has a say in it that the Flames need to change things.

It doesn't have to be a complete blow up but some serious moves of 3 or 4 expensive vets for picks, prospects and young players.

Heard on 960 this morning that Feaster wants to get bigger down the middle. No $hit! Trade a few vets together, retain salary if you have to and get it down. It's a hell of a place to start.

I agree but no coach in his right mind is going to say that.

Of course. I was saying that most fans of this team should be saying it. I'm not "cheering" for a loss, but losses are what this team needs to convince the powers that be.

Iggy, go win a cup somewhere, you will ALWAYS be a Flame!

Jbo, G-damn go somewhere and make the freakin' playoffs already, you might like it.

Lets make moves that bring this team back to some glory. I suggested a few days ago Tangs, Stajan and Butler to St. Lo for Berglund and a 1st; hell, change Butler for Jbo and get Rattie as well and likely more. At least that will be 1 big bodied C to build around. Maybe we get Perron back as well.

Exactly! In a way, I'm happy we sent Sven down, would hate to see him start his young career getting tainted with this indifferent, inconsistent group we have. Crosby doesnt take shifts off & look at the players that emulate him & have career seasons playing on his team. Iggy used to do that, but not anymore. Not Iggy's fault, Dutter just couldnt get all the right pieces & never made the right moves when him & Kipper & regehr were in their primes. & now.....................

Hindsight is 20-20 on Nuge V Landeskog but even still time will tell, it's not over yet.

Taylor VS Tyler.....I think they made the wrong choice there.

I agree. Why take a winger when you are loaded with them and have no C? THey could have drafted Seguin and RNH and been set at C for years and years. It's easier to find wingers, especially if you have skilled centermen to feed them the puck.

Colin, the argument about how many points we are out of 3rd place really doesnt have a lot weight consideng we are in last place & there are how many teams we have to leapfrog. With all the 3 point games now, even if we win 4 in a row, chances are we wont be in a playoff spot. There's a reason we are in last place, why should we feel everything suddenly gets corrected & we are going to start rolling over teams on a nightly basis? Accept the reality & make a plan moving forward.

Buddy of mine was talking to Conroy a few weeks ago & it sounds like Gaudreau is wanting to get his career going & into pro hockey. Wants to finish this year in College but dont be too suprised if Flames ink him to an ELC this summer & we see him in training camp next fall. Thought I would share a little shimmer of hope in the darkness.

In Colin's defence at least he is trying to write about something other than blow it up, rebuild etc. However at this point its extremely hard to avoid; i'm sure everyone can attest to this.

Ya...you like some other trolls like to try to knock whoever is number one.

Hall is better than Seguin. Better player, more heart drives games everytime he is on the ice. Seguin...not even top guy on his team.

Nuge over Landy. Nuge is a number one C. Something every team is begging for. Including the Flames. I like Landy. But over their careers, Nuge is better and more valuable.

JMO but I think that would be a mistake. He's 19 and still very small. He shoud finish college and get bigger and stronger in that time. We don't need to start rushing what few prospects we have only to have them fail and lose all confidence because they aren't ready. Look at Sven, I haven't read the article but it sounds like he is really down on himself in a Calgary Herald article today.

That's because he is supported by solid vets; he had the benefit of going to a strong team. Unfortunate for Hall he went to the basement dwellers. Not to sound trollish.
