Doughty's having a rough season, but he was a rock in the playoffs last year. People forget he's still only 23.

Doughty 0g 10asst -2 Voynov 4g 12asst +12. Both 23 yr old. Lol

God I hope not. Schenn going to the wing is briere part 2. I guess if schenn could improve on wing but he doesn't look good whenever he is. Big ifs to count on ( schenn improving on wing and coots being alot more produCtive as a #2 center)
- SMS4016

Schenn, IMO is better at center, but he's not a waste on the wing. He has good size and isn't negated when the going gets tough. My concern is Briere's ineffectiveness is hurting Schenn's offensive play of late.

Voynov is going to be a baller. The kid can play some hockey. He played well during last years playoffs also.

Murray is an underrated GM. He did a lot of the lifting-Hell most of it-for the Ducks team that won the 2007 Stanley Cup.
- Jsaquella

guess he drafted getzlaf and perry at least

Yep, well I guess that pretty much shows us that Doughty is on the decline.

Maybe since Doughty is on his way out in LA, we can trade Couturier for him?

Could be true. Maybe we get lucky and briere gets traded. He brings down even the ice girls when he's on the ice. How the hell can he be so good in playoffs and suck so bad in reg season? It would be great If he waived nmc and went to Boston and stunk it up in playoffs

Last I checked, offensive stats are not the primary consideration when discussing defensemen, and +/- is not a very good stat unless taken in context.

Voynov is an excellent young defenseman, but Doughty is better. Looking at the two players' advanced metrics, their corsi, Corsi QoC & REL Corsi are all similar.

One big difference is on ice Save %...When Voynov is on ice, Kings goalies are stopping pucks at a .916 rate. When Doughty is on ice, that drops to .873, which helps explain the difference in +/-

23 games is far too small a sample size to say that Voynov has surpassed Doughty

You and me both. Doughty is no Subban, but if we have to settle for him, then I guess it's a good deal.

I think he could be moved. If they can't get to .500 by the 19th, they're going to have to be sellers.

Voynov is a nice young player. But he's not even close to the player that Doughty is.

Better yet we trade for subban and draft nurse then we too could have a great 1 2 combo on defense

I value defenseman. So I would have no problem trading Couturier to get a player of that caliber on the blueline.

Neither would most people, myself included. Although I would be hesitant to trade him for Subban.

Did you catch the post about Plant not having plans in 2014?
- Jsaquella

I did. Sorry, for thread necromancy all night. We got all sorts of things going on. Having M4 try on Easter clothes, talking about moving to save money, grocery shopping at 9:30 PM...

It'd be really cool if Plant and the bassist from Them Crooked Vultures could work together.

Weber, Doughty, Keith and Seabrook are the type of players I would be willing to deal Couturier for.

i think we're getting to a point where guys like bogo, subban and shattenkirk are virtually untouchable w/o a significant overpayment

Why exactly will it be different in a year or two?
