Apparently the Flyers are haunted by Bob.

- MBFlyerfan

Yep. If Sam was a beat writer when Boucher set the NHL record for longest shutout streak, they would have regretted that trade, too.

Good for Bob though, but the fact is he wasn't going to stay here

Mckennzie with excellent analysis on the flyers predicament on NHL Tonight. Says they're being very unflyerish and prepare to side with patience

What's your obsession with trading him?

Not saying I disagree with a potential Couturier for Subban deal, just wondering why every time you propose a deal, you have Couturier headed out of Philadelphia?

- Jsaquella

Like I've said... I really like coots. He's my type player ( brindamour one of my all time favs) but coots is the only expendable piece( because of Laughton ) that we can trade to get a major needed piece for our team. Now if we trade him for soupy or someone like that I'll be pissed. But subban? Oh yeah I make that deal. We could maybe offer someone picks plus roster or prospects but I'd rather keep those. Just say we get nurse( or one of those highly touted dman in draft) ( because in all honestly we are picking high this year) plus someone like subban. Then we'd have nurse subban grossman schenn as core dman for the future. Plus coburn gusty ghost(probably) or some other vet for experience. Add that to g harts checky read schenn Laughton. Me likes that much! Coots I think gets us there.

I think you're expecting too much from an 18 year old kid with 5 NHL games under his belt.

I agree though, it'd have to be a Subban type guy to pry him loose. Although I think that there's others with value. If the Flyers end up with Perry, they could use Simmonds as trade bait.

Look out for voynov in la too. This kids going to be the next oel. Bank on it. I'd like to get him too. But coots straight up I'd have to think really hard about. DoNt think I could do it. Well maybe?

Crap forgot to add him to that core. I wouldn't move simmonds unless it was for a subban type. And I wouldn't add anything either. He is a beast and for less than 4 mil for next 6 years? That's a steal. Crap stafford got 4 yr 16 mil leino got 4 yr 19 mil. Hahahahagaha! I'd say simmer is almost as untouchable as g. But I see your point. My only fear is we arent really that strong on the wings as far as talent if we start moving wingers.

I agree, but if the sign Perry, Simmonds is likely stuck on a 3rd line role. Schenn could also have value, but Couturier's is probably a bit higher.

The Flyers need to drink a large dose of whatever the Sens are having.
So many key injuries and they battle hard in every game.

I wouldn't move anyone right now, unless Weber, Doughty, or Keith is coming our way.

All I expect out of my 3rd line center is to be pretty good defensively, play pk, and chip in maybe 10g 20asst a year. Laughton I think fits that bill nicely. That's why I'm not upset that cooter isn't scoring. But his stock is still high right now. I think we can get someone like subban now for cooter. But if we wait and he doesn't start scoring next year and has soso dfenSe like this year his stock is going to drop then we'd have to add picks or roster player to get that dman. Just like jvr. I like l schenn but if we traded jvr after plaYoffs when he was hot we'd have gotten better then schenn. We drafted jvr to be this tough power forward but he never was and never will be. It's just not him. Everyone could see it.

I think that Couturier ends up as a 2nd line center here, with Brayden Schenn on a wing.

I'm not against moving him, But I do think that eventually they have 28 & 14 as the top 2 centers, with Schenn on a wing, where he can bang and be physical.

Then Laughton can be the third line center and you keep the flexibility of having 3 guys capable of filling in there in the middle.

Doughty? Overrated. Voynov is already taking over #1 role in la. Tuen that game and watch. He's fun to watch.

murray is living proof that a GM can change his stripes after screwing up. the Sens were headed for a steep decline before he went on a youth crusade and retooled. impressive...

Doughty's having a rough season, but he was a rock in the playoffs last year. People forget he's still only 23.

God I hope not. Schenn going to the wing is briere part 2. I guess if schenn could improve on wing but he doesn't look good whenever he is. Big ifs to count on ( schenn improving on wing and coots being alot more produCtive as a #2 center)

Murray is an underrated GM. He did a lot of the lifting-Hell most of it-for the Ducks team that won the 2007 Stanley Cup.

Voynov is not even close to taking on the #1 role in LA. And is no where near the player that Doughty is.

I don't want the Flyers to buy any player, lets sell. After the Devils handle us will have no choice but to get some picks.
