Yes...that's what I meant to write. Dumby.

Why didn't the ol' spell check pick that up? Fool me once, shame...shame on me. Fool me twice...you won't get fooled again.

Im not giving up on him just yet, but i felt the same way.
Uncomf with him coming into this year as our starter, but hoping hed prove me wrong.
He played well initially too, but wow has he ever been mediocre lately. It seems like he went from having the total confidence of coaching to losing it

- hugefemale dog77

Agreed.

Whats worse is I don't know what the immediate solution is...

Duby may be good in time... but we need that pillar of stability right now. (I know i'm stating the obvious).

This team should be an offensive juggernaut. It seems a stretch to suggest that our team defense has improved... it's just sometimes I wonder what it could be like; what it would be like if our kids didn't have to "worry" about playing a "riskier" offensive game. You know... playing to our strengths.

Unfortunately we don't have that luxury.

I dont think the sample size is big enough to say he's forever bad at playing on the wing. He's got great hockey sense IMO and nose for the net. Without his hockey IQ he wouldn't be the player he is today. He slow and small yet he has 23 points... I think he would work well on the wing and it would shelter his size a little bit. It's at least worth another try, especially if we move for Dubinsky.
- JShack

Agreed. We have to stay open to the idea of Gags on the wing depending on what players come in.

I think I'm in the minority here but I still think Hall may be able to play center one day. I also wouldn't mind if he played the right side more. He's all over the ice anyway but he could cut into the slot more with the left blade rather then the Olympic speed skating routine on the left side. Having said that, I haven't seen too much of that lately which is good.

I feel so bad for your org. If you look at successful 1st overall picks, a lot of them have vets to guide them, Edm has the worst ones to do so. Crosby had them, Stamkos too. Tavares didn't but he has been exceptional. Nuge. Hall. Yak, who teaches these guys what it takes? Horcoff? Smyth? Hemsky? Lol.

In the end, Edm will never be a good team til they get new management and a new coach who isn't a former assistant or Edm alumni.
I honestly fear you could be spinning your tires for a long Time. Hope I'm wrong....

- SenCity.ca

Tavares and Hall have nearly identical ppg through their first 2 years in the NHL. Nuge had a much higher ppg in his rookie year. Vets like Horcoff and Smyth are probably good mentors for these kids because they have had to work for what they have got. I do agree mgmt needs to be fixed, but your "successful first overall argument" is complete garbage spewed by jealousy or stupidity.

Or if Dubinsky is targeted maybe he would be effective on the wing.

I know I'm going to get my ass ripped for this... but Dubnyk is garbage.

There... I said it. I wanted him to suceed so much... to prove me wrong, but I have little to no confidence in him and I think his team mates feel the same way.

Stickin with him still but I hear ya. Save % under .900 for the last couple weeks is not good.

i kinda figured that's what u were getting at....

and yes. i believe he's a true number 1 center. he's 19 and struggling abit right now. last year at this time no one wouldve even asked this question.
he'll be fine

- hugefemale dog77

I xansee that. gallagher is 20 playing lughts out only because hes really insulated.

maybe its time (should the oil keep to the cellar) to get rid of picks find said insulation

gags and propect to ott for bishop and neal

edm #1 and hemsky to tampa for lecavalier m.a bergeron and their 1st or 2nd ( really would have to depend where edm sit compared to tampa. but I think lecavalier would be a great fit in edm)

edm#2 and a mid lvl propect to dallas for jagr

edm #3 and a mid lvl prospect to mtl for nokalainen

harti and tampas 1st and whitney to pitts for despres and their #1

pitts #1 to T.dot for liles and their 2nd
if all those pieces fell into place ina perfect world. edm I think could make a splash. love to dream

I'm thinking he wanted his ass ripped.
It's hard to defend him right now, but it is still way too early to give up on him.
The team as a whole hasn't looked right for a bit, and it is unfair to pin it on Dubnyk. Hopefully he figures it out soon, or someone comes in to challenge him for the starter spot, and that sparks him.

fair enough but you add some quality vets pick up a young ofd in despres, a great golaie for a great tsndem with duby and you don't give up any of said untouchables. edms first could start the ball rolling. why get another propect this year. take a chance and make thebteam more experienced.

I added chris neal with the ott trade. he was mesnt to be included for grit

I'm thinking we need to bring in that guy to either push Dubnyk to the next level or take the job from him. And hopefully its not Khabby @ 3.75 for 2 more years like Laughs made up in the other thread. I'd have to hang myself at that point in my Gretzky jersey David Carradine style in the closet.

I am fine with using any and all picks to improve the team. MA Bergeron does not improve anything. Lecavalier would be great, but his salary would scare me in 2 or 3 years.

His salary could affect the ability to re-sign Nuge, Yak, Schultz or proper support players.
