I think Aucoin gets another shot. Man did he fall off quick after a good start.

When you have an abundance of players and prospects @ Center. You know not all of them will be part of your future.

Trade from your strength (center) while their value is high, to strengthen a weak spot.

Dont wait until you have an overabundance of players all fighting for a spot or two on the team. Then teams know you have to get rid of one or two players. U get little in return.

Right now we have at least seven Centers in the Isles organization that will be competing for 3 center spots over the next couple/three yrs. Some may bring back a piece to the puzzle that we are sorely in need of.

I dont need to say JT is a lock. But if I dont. Someone else will.

That leaves our 2nd ,3rd and 4th line center spots to be filled by seven competitors.

The most likely candidates to center the 2nd and 3rd lines IMO are Strome, B. Nelson Sundstrum, Cizikas and Nielsen.

Jockeying for the 4th line center spot will include whoever fails to secure a spot on lines 2 or 3, plus Anders Lee and Mitchelle Theoret.

Thats a lot of competition for 3 spots. Especially with another draft coming up in a few months!

So what do you think? Is is more advantageous to keep them all. Foster some competition at the Center spot over the next yr or two.

Or trade one (or 2) of them ( or package one with say KO, Bailey, Striet) to improve an area we need help in.

Like a power forward to complement JT and MM.

Or Someone to provide secondary scoring on our 2nd line.

Who goes and who stays would depend on the return. But we dont need 8 centers. At least one should go for the sake of improving the team. Dont you think?

I said awhile back that Aucoin would either be sent down or waived. I still believe that.

Boulton will get more Ice time IMO.

A little luck and a lot of adrenalin! Isles may have been his last chance at an NHL job. I'm sure he was sky high when he got the call. Unfortunately NHL players dont live by adrenalin alone. Some where along the line, talent must take over.

I'm just grateful that Snow didnt sign him to a three yr contract based on two weeks of good hockey!

This is one of the reasons I trade Frans. Where does he really fit going forward and he could bring back something we need. Isles should have a better idea who goes and stays at this point. Snow has had plenty of time watching these guys to know. It's like you wrote SCLI there will be another draft soon and the Isles cannot keep all these players. It's time for Isles management to put on their big boy pants and make decisions.

Very well said!! How Ulstrom was sent down is beyond me. I dont care about pts. If having crappy stats was an issue, how do you explain Okposo? Ulstrom, is tenacious, plays physical, has hands and drives the net. Other than Martin and Cizikas, who else finishes their checks and drives to the net? I say give Ulstrom or Martin a shot on JTs line. Im done with the Brad Boyes experiment.

I dont trade Frans. He's not being used properly. He brings things to the team that are exteremely important. To me, he gets relied on to produce too much. He should be used more defensively.

That's why he'll continue to be a career minor leaguer. He can't play at this level consistently, that's what separates the AHL from the NHL.

I agree that Frans is being improperly used. He belongs on the 3rd line. And He's lights out in Shoot outs.

Of course what I have to say is hypothetical consideration. But just consider the following.

Nearly Everyone seems to believe that Strome will eventually be penciled in as our #2 center for yrs to come. At least we hope so. Whenever I hear him mentioned on XM radio or NHL TV Network. Nothing but praise and high expectations for this kid.

Brock Nelson from what I've heard and read is the kind of player that we have been looking for to anchor our 3rd line. He's a pedigree with size, strength & offensive upside. Plays responsively. I'm sure 178 or UIF know more on about this kid and what he may someday become.

That leaves the 4th line. Everyone loves Cizikas but can we rule out Lee with his size, presence and ability just yet. And Theorett has grit, size and has shown some scoring ability. He seems to be a steal from the 7th rd. I give our scouting staff credit for finding this kid so late in the draft. Although he's at least 2-3 yrs away.

So as much as we all feel that Frans is a valuable player. He could be the odd man out that brings the most back in return. And he is the oldest center amongst them.

And we havent even mentioned Sundstrum!

I am all for trading anyone of those guys minus Strome if it means a nice return. I say we start trading some prospects. We have plenty
