I think Wang has learned to take things VERY slow when making decisions concerning this club. It's likely a lesson he learned from everything Milbury did. I'm sure this has been preached to Snow who is taking a 'steady as she goes' approach on this rebuild. They're weathering the storm as a franchise so their decisions are ultimately slower than what seems to make sense. I do think Cappy's time is running out, but as I mentioned in my earlier post, I think the shortened season may have prolonged the Cappy era by 22 games or so.
As for what's said to Cappy by Snow. Good question. I'd like to think he's 'hands on' in this but we haven't seen an approach to what Cappy does thus far, so it at least appears on the exterior that Cappy has full rein. - keaner17

If so, dumb. Not moving quicker on firing Milbury when the entire hockey universe saw it was necessary is what got the organization into most of this mess. I liked Lou's approach. He named MacLean coach. It clearly wasn't working, but was it the coach or the roster? He wasn't going to sit around and do nothing, even though that season was virtually already lost, but he didn't want to make the wrong move. So he axed MacLean, and brought in a familiar face in Lemaire on what was understood to be a temporary basis, telling him he just wants to be certain of what he has on the roster. |

Yep. Since the team doesn't plan to move substantial pieces, Snow's job is largely done between May and October. I wouldn't expect to hear much from him until that point. If Weight is ultimately the choice to be our next coach, I'd say there's no better time than to give him 20 games behind the bench to prepare for next season. I just think everything we've heard from Snow thus far suggests they won't make any moves until the last possible moment. |

He has to get permission first before he does anything. I never liked Snow when he was with the Flyers when he was with us he was always nasty and moronic. I got into a little shouting fight with him one game when he was with the Flyers. Just not a nice guy at all |

Agreed. Yet it plays totally into Wang's MO. Milbury's extended stay is the prime example of Wang's desire to let things play out...Yashin too. DP too.
I don't think there's the slightest sense of urgency from this team until 2015. It shows from top to bottom. The attitude is, we're going to restock two teams completely through the draft and won't deviate from that plan until it's completed. They'll shut the doors and windows so they don't hear the fanbase screaming from outside and hope their plan carries them to success. It may work, but if it doesn't, we've wasted 5-7 years. Our Ace in the hole is Barclay and JT so if this does fail, they can start buying their way back into relevance. |

Plenty of unfriendly GM's have done well though. I respect the fact that he has the worst GM job in the NHL. I also have no idea just how tied his hands are at this point. If the purse strings have truly been tied, he's done the best you could expect with nothing but access to the waiver wire. I'd very much like to see what he could do with a competitive payroll. I do think he needs to work on his PR. |

I rather us not get a new coach now. If we did it would be Weight for the rest of the year and then next year. Lets start fresh next year with a real coach. - mighty13duck
I have no problem waiting if it's going to be a coach like Ruff. If it will be Weight might as well hire him now see if he can get the team to the playoffs. |

Something is really wrong with this guy Capuano.
Marty Reasoner has One goal in 82 games in isles sweater. He is a minus 34. He gets 10-14mins of ice time
Kyle Okposo has 2 goals in 26 games this year and is a -8. He gets 15-20mins of ice time per game. And is on 2nd PP Unit Andy McDonald leads isles in ice time with over 22-24mins a night is a -14 this year.
Meanwhile the guys Capuano blames or benches.
Grabner 10 Goals, -2 rating, Has been hot score lately has seen his mins from 15Mins earlier in season to avg or 10-12Mins with season low against Washington at 9mins. He gets very little power play time.
Ullstrom 19 games 2G, 3A -2 playing on 4th line. Getting 8-9Mins a game. No PP time.
And finally Rookie Dman Thomas Hickey who has plus 2 rating on isles team full of minuses.

I too watched the barn negotiations and even though it was one of the slowest episodes I've seen in a while, it was far better than watching Cappy's Islanders do their best Keystone Cops impersonation in their own zone. - keaner17

Yeah, they're just setting the stages for the big conflict. Stringing us along
They do a great job of moving the storyline very slowly along but providing enough action scenes to keep our narrow attention spans happy |

SCLI Isles cannot trade Steit and especially Vish fast enough. They also cannot fire Jack fast enough. To call out a guy to the media is just stupid and especailly one of the few guys that scores on this team. I watched The Bible last night on History. Much more entertaining than the Isles. - ses111
I liked to see both traded at the dead line. Provided they pay substantial dividends.
I'd like to see Capt Jack sent packing by 2:00 PM today! |

I spent yesterday afternoon at an early St Pats Day party at the Greenville Drive ball park. (Red Sox Single A team)
Drinking Local Brews, finger food and Irish Music. It left me mellow and content. |
