Boyle can play that way all the time so when he doesn't for long stretches it's frustrating. If he does that for a full season he could get 12 - 15 goals and 30 - 35 points in a full schedule.

If he knew how to use his body right, he would be impossible to take off the puck and would be able to drive to the net any time he wanted.

Great pressure, don't let them get the extra skater on, then seal the game.

Hopefully Hamrlik gets up to speed so they don't have to use Bickel or Gilroy much anymore. They should also look at Bergeron who could be had if TB falls out of it.

Yea I love Mac, but they don't have to get down on their knees every time he makes a good defensive play

I think he has been fine, a few sloppy games after he came back from his concussion, but other than that solid

Didn't read every post so if anyone touched on it I apologize. But, ovechkin is just not any good anymore. He is so different from those previous playoff years when we played them. No longer do I gulp when he has the puck. Soft and disinterested if you ask me lucky for us tho

He definitely was lazy away from the puck this afternoon. The only time he played with any energy was on the PP or when Washington was able to keep the puck in the offensive zone, generally without his help. I know if I was a Washington fan I wouldn't be happy.

Am i the only one that sees how bad Torts defensive system sucks. Caps had them pinned for 2 minutes there. Every play by the caps started with a pas back to the point. Why? because of the stupid collapsing system
- DONMURDOCH14

If they didnt use this then the middle of the ice in front of the net would be open and we would complain about why they give up so much ice in front. The idea is to keep pucks to the outside and away from prime scoring areas. You see it in soccer when team condense more and more around the net. I like it, the theory is the closer you get to the net the less ice. And when they do get shots through you have a world class goaltender. The rangers get hemmed some times not bc of the system but bc of circumstance. Long shift, bad clearance, etc not to mention the guys on the other teams are pro hockey players and get paid too. It happens to everybody even the better teams. In fact looking at the scores we have given up more than 3 goals in regulation once!! I took a quick glance maybe there was another game that I missed but the Home opener I think is the only time. It's hard to knock that.

Yea & Pierre went on & on about how his soft play led to the Rangers 1st goal was the demise of the Caps today. Maybe he's just not that good?
