Observations from the cheap seats:
-some one needs to let the hawks know what time the game starts so they can show up for the first period. What a nightmare.
-I really like Shaw, but he can't be the only one trying push back out there.
-Put a friggin body in front of the net. Please!
-I want to see Taylor Hall traded to Vancouver. What a d!ck.
-We don't need to blow it up, but we do need to fill the hole left by Sharpie and quit juggling lines.

I love how Hall gets called out by fans of a team that has Kane (uber douche) and Dan Carcillo...

Hall is a beast.

Brandon Saad has NO business on the PK. None. On goals #4 and 5 from the Oil, he either didn't pick up his guy when they swung the puck to the other point, or it was a miscommunication w/Bolland. I'm thinking the latter, because Bolland almost hesitated like 'Oh poopttt, guess I need to cover this guy'.

I like Saad, think he'll be good, but he's starting to get into more than he can handle, ala Nick Leddy circa 2010 thru 2012

Wow thanks for that, I will forward this over to Q right away. Great insight into Bollands internal monologue. The problem is the passive activity of the defensemen down low. But hey, yeah...Saad...

I've seen girl scouts tougher than carcillo. Q has tamed him... like he has the rest of the hawks.

You have to admit, Carcillo is always kind of a douche. Even though he's on your team, don't you think just has a really stupid face? I love Hall but I can admit he has a ridiculous face.

Oh great, God's gift to hockey has showed up for the debate.

If you watched, you'll see Saad completely sink down and Bolland looked over, and was late to react. I'm pretty sure he thought Saad was covering. And what was a big issue they had all last year? Not putting pressure on the point.

NO. We want to be 502-0-2.

I don't think I speak for the whole lot of us, but I was worried the Hawks team (specifically PK) from last two years would show up at some point and here she be. They got punched in the mouth on Friday and this was how they respond?

I was going to make the same observation--seriously. I will admit, Kane is growing on me, as he appears to be growing up--but, as the saying goes, don't throw stones if you live in a glass house . . . .

That being said, Hall does come off as a punk too.

Perhaps, but he's taken a lot of abuse since he came into the league. He was bound to start fighting back as he got older.

The streak was great--but, seriously, the team is very similar to the team that almost--but didn't--beat Phoenix in the playoffs last year. In other words, the team is very similar to the teams that got knocked out in the first round the last two years. They play a lot of tight games--can totally dominate for stretches, but they are usually playing a lot of very close games. Tonight is now another one goal game. Goaltending and PK--until the last two games--are the big difference between this year and the last few. We'll see what happens--but as folks were pointing out, as much fun as the streak is (was), it's going to end, and they'll have to play the rest of the season, and it really won't matter if they don't do well in the playoffs. I think Boston and the Ducks can both give the Blackhawks a lot of trouble--thought so during the streak and still think so.

I sure hope we don't have another losing streak like last year witnessed. If there's any silver lining, they did come back--unlike the debacle in Edmonton last year that really sent them into a tailspin. Let's hope this is, as someone else said, part of the hangover from the streak--but, even if it is, they still play a lot of one goal games that can go either way.

- AL SEC0RD

I'm with ya...good assessment.

I think the streak was a wonderful fluke. The consistancy of effort and results was amazing.

But it's over...and over in a BIG way. I'm hoping the old adage that "You're never as good as you look when winning, and never as bad as you look when losing" holds true.

But the Hawks need to straighten their sh!t out quickly before "the streak" becomes a bad joke in the sports world, as opposed to the great accomplishment it was just days ago.

Kane may do some things off the ice that leave you scratching your head, but you'd take him on the Oil in a heartbeat. What he does on the ice is mostly pretty awesome and he's actually coming back and playing D more the last 2 years.

I don't think Kane's ever done anything like throw the knee out on a guy; never been suspended that's for sure.

Either way, Oilers came out flying tonight and deserved this game.

Anyway you look at it...the Blackhawks appear to be starting a stretch of garbage hockey.

I'm not surprised in the least...the point streak was the surprise! ...and a fluke in my opinion.

My guess is the Hawks lose at least 12 games by seasons end...end up the 3 or 4 seed in the west...gone in the first or second round.

Unless SB improves the club by the deadline...and, the club enters the post season healthy...then they have a shot at reaching the finals.

Who gives a crap about their looks? Hall's play tonite was as dirty as any diving Canuck I've ever seen. He was after Shaw all night long.

You want to talk about looks? I hear Sharp's your man. Never considered it myself.

Without question.

and Hall didn't throw his knee out on Cluster(frank). He went for a hit and was careless about it. I didn't have an issue with his suspension. Butter(frank) has made his living on borderline hits. Live by the sword.

Touche.

Can't argue with you. I have not been one Kane's fans.

The cab incident was an absolute embarrassment.

I've watched Hall a ton. He battles hard. I can maybe count on one hand the "questionable" things he's ever done. Usually its a heat of the moment thing. He's not at all a douchebag. If you think he was off on the faceoff against Shaw...fine...but one play does not equate to a player being a douchebag.

His play isn't though. (frank) that little shit is good. His sisters are pretty hot too. Brownie points.
