I would think you would be looking at kessel and Reilly. - Mystery
You know that Kessel got 82 points last year right? Reilly would be a huge over payment for Perry |

You know Cory perry has scored 50 goals and had 98 points. Do you seriously think Anaheim takes anything less. Do you think a player like carter Ashton would even remotely be considered.
Come on man. Kessel is a free agent after next season, he will get 7 mil plus, Reilly is the insurance incase kessel walks in a year. You have to give something to get something. |

I'd love to see Anaheim try to build a contending team with two 8 million plus dollar cap hits over the next 8 years. IMO the smart thing to do is trade Perry to the highest bidder by the TDL. - Nucker101

Pens? - Iggysbff
No way. Cost will we way too high for something that is a luxury not a need. Pens already lead league in scoring. Need an upgrade over Kennedy on third line more than top 6 help. |

i'm not sure is he suggesting pens are capable of building a contending team with two 8m players aka crosby and malkin...or pens should take a whack at corey sweepstakes.
it's suggested pens are seeking a top 6 winger to play with crosby and a top 4 d-man defensive d-man. |

I wasnt saying the Pens get him...
He was questioning how a team could be competitive with 2 - 8 million plus salaries... |

Why is Kessel and Rielly even being talked about?
Perry is a rental, which equals a 1st rounder, 2nd rounder, and a prospect in the 7C range on Hockeysfuture, + perhaps a roster player. |

Every team out there wants this guy. Trouble is affording him and giving up too much for him unsigned.
If the Oilers could ship Hemsky out and put Perry on line 2 with Gags and Yak, that would be so awesome...but ya, thats a pipe dream... |

Given that Ryan was chirping people from Jersey on twitter earlier this year, I doubt Lou wants him in the org. |

My bad. Crosby Malkin are probably the only 2 you can do that with. Pens are lucky. |

I am sure no deal gets done without perry agreeing to an extension. No way the ducks trade perry without getting pieces back that will allow them to still contend this year. They are to good to trade him for picks and prospects |

This. Malkin and Crosby are in a class of their own compared to Getzlaf and Perry. |

the biggest difference is the ducks actually found there players, unlike the pens who tanked the season for half a decade and had the NHL rig the draft lottery to get crosby, malkin, staal, fluery, etc. etc. |

people in NJ are drinking the kool-aid with larsson, right now he belongs in the minors, he is a big liability playing on the devils right now. he is soft on the boards and constantly gives up the puck under pressure. 5 years from now i may look like a fool trying to give him up, but right now i would try and find a sucker to give me a top 6 forward for him. |

If Ducks cant resign Perry then they will move him before the deadline. As soon as they say he is available teams will try to undercut the Ducks because they know he has to be moved. Think Nash and Kovalchuk type deals.
Perry is a better player then Kessel in my opinion. Its why I think we should acquire him. I dont think you will see any team give up a player like Kessel for him though. May be the closest you get to Perrys value, and it wont screw up your cup run this year. |

it almost look like there isn't much grit or aggressive nature with him, but has tremendous potential. i am beginning to think he would only become a 3/4 d-man. |

interesting fact about this summer's most sought after UFA
http://ducks.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=44324
"Favorite NHL team growing up
Montreal Canadiens"
so i guess it might mean the Habs dont even have to go after him at the deadline
or so i hope |

Tampa had patience with Hedman and it's starting to pay off big time. Patience is pretty key with dmen. Playing D at the NHL level is probably the toughest position. Dmen that come in and are immediately competent are the exception, not the norm. |

no way Toronto offers halfsack unless they get Perry signed for at least 2 years. |

I don't think he will get re-signed by the Ducks. I don't see him being moved for prospects and picks because the Ducks are a contender for the Stanley Cup this year. |
