Big part of it. Voracek has really stepped up, and the best part is he is leading the team. Which is far more than can be said for the "leadership" core of this team.

That is the biggest thing I have been looking for from the kids who are expected to be a part of the core. I would really like to see more of it from Brayden Schenn.

I am keeping Claude, Jake, Simmonds, the Schenns, grossman, coburn, and maybe Mezs. I would be completely OK building around that.

Why wait until tomorrow, this team is awful. Can you name more than 2 guys that have played well every game?
- LJF

The scary thing is when you say more than 2 that have played well every game , one of those 2 players is Rinaldo.

I can't think of anyone else. He is clearly the most consistent and plays his role the best. He never, never takes a shift off.

Talbot has been a disappointment this year. I wasn't looking for the goals, but at least some heart and soul.

As of now I would try to stay away from trading Giroux, Voracek, Hartnell, Simmonds, Luke Schenn, Grossman, Rinaldo, and Read.

Dont give anyone away, but in my eyes that is the "core" I build around. Try to better the team in the off-season if it makes sense.

Coots is an interesting case, I would definately prefer to keep the kid, but he is no longer untouchable in my eyes. Dont sell low.

Simply put, if the head coach has a really bad losing record against the top teams in the same division, it is time for a change. The goalie has been inconsistent, but if there were stats to compile two on one rushes, turnovers at their own blueline, horrible line changes, and forwards left wide open in the slot, guaranteed the Flyers would be in the top 3 of all the categories.

The team defense is unacceptable, until that changes, nothing will get better. Lava needs to unfortunately be replaced.

Forgot about Read. Keep him. Coots is expendable because of Laughton.

I would pretty much say the only players you shouldn't trade are Giroux , Jake, Simmonds , Grossman, Rinaldo and Hartnell. I think Giroux and Jake are by far the most talented players and if Voracek can keep this up he may surpass Giroux. Keep in mind Voracek was a top 7 draft pick.

I think Hartnell brings proven goal scoring plus some personality to the team.

Simmonds and Rinaldo bring toughness.

Grossman who i think makes a perfect 3/4 dman.

I would like to keep Read and the Schenns but for the right deal I think anyone but those initial players should be looked at.

Brayden Schenn has shown what though? Prone to being injured, inconsistent in his own zone and a lack of effort throughout stretches.

Read is in his 2nd NHL season, and has shown he can carry the team beign thrown up and down the lineup. He plays resposible hockey, and fills a wing position the organization is lacking in.

Read might not have the shine sorrounding him thet Brayden Schenn does, but Read is far more of a valuable player, and more than anything has shown more initiative in having a consistent complete game than Brayden Schenn has.

Lava just isn't a coach who is going to be with a team for a long period of time. They have obviously tuned him out, and it is time for a different voice. The whole team in general are making pee wee mental mistakes, just as many mistakes from the vets as the young guys. I'm not in a rush to trade any of the young forward yet. However, Coburn just isn't the type of top 4 d-man this team needs with Grossmann, Schenn and Kimmo on the roster. Of course, there is no place for Danny B, it is to move on.

If we are trading Lava because the team has tuned him out was that also not the case with Hitch and Stevens?

If they fire him because they want a coach that will improve the D-game and improve player accountability so be it. I just dont want the players given some idea that any of their play has been acceptable. The veterans to be even more specific, or even younger guys who have a decent amount of NHL game experience, should not require someone to kiss their ass to get them motivated.
