Hey we may have sucked for 4 seasons. But the pens were as broke as it gets then and actually made an effort with recchi leclair palffy Gonchar and thibault. Didn't work but it was an honest effort not a tank job. And isn't threatening to move something the devils, and many other teams, have done?

And nothing more played out than the rigged lottery BS. First off the league can't do anything that complicated right. And second a more compelling case could have been made to hand him to the rangers, islanders, Columbus, buffalo, LA and likely others. And really what's better for the league after a missed season, most hyped prospect in a generation on a small market team in turmoil with an empty old building that or broadway, returning an original 6 team back to prominence after 8 years of missed playoffs and horrendous management?

It's about making money, not success on the ice. Rangers were still getting crowds & making money. Always will - their fans are not fair weather.

Did you like the new batman? It was filmed here. Along with a ton of other new movies not to mention the g20 summit was held here. Such a beautiful rising city. It's a shame we share the same state as you

I've never heard of cruck before. I'm only drinking right now waiting for the face of the NHL to play.

I have believed from the first day of the season that the Flyers primary problem is the absence of a #1 Dman. A large part of the forwards problem has to do with the fact the back end cannot get them the puck on the breakout from their own zone.

The second issue, I believe, is Bryzgalov is overworked and is not making the big save or stealing a game. A good back up (eg Bishop) would go a long way towards improving the situation.

Really important, do not panic and do not do anything rash over the short term.

- spatso

There's a lot if teams that don't have a number 1 dman and they don't blow this bad tho

as a devils fan i hope the flyers do nothing, but if i were a flyer fan i would be calling for holmgren's head first. flyer ownership needs to stop re living the past and bring in a GM with no ties to the past. both clarke and holmgren have thought getting someone elses rejects to play goal is the wy to win. i know bryz hasn't played bad, but he just reminds me of a player who always seems to play just good enough to lose.

Yeah they are. But in an area with 18 million you can still always find 18000 to show up. And you're right about it being about the money. The difference with an energized ny fan base means money to the whole league in TV money and increased exposure. Look at what Chicago and Boston's turnarounds has done for the league as a whole. If NY and Chicago are at the top that's good for business as a whole. If Columbus and nashville are battling it out not so much.

Things may be bleak, but I think they are a few smart changes away from getting back to being a solid team. There are pieces in place.

I am not placing the game on him today, and I do think he is tired, but if the team is going to fire Lava and perhaps make some other big moves, I would really be looking at replacements for Bryzgalov.

I know this will open up a can of worms, but I was never in the camp to really move him. I want someone else between the pipes. Unfortunate, and Nutter is crazy!

Exactly why giving Crosby to a team that needs a shot in the arm like Pittsburgh makes more sense than to NY. Thanks for proving the point.

the problem with the "Bryz is tired" argument is that I thought part of the problem last year was that he didn't get enough work? Didn't he say (or someone say) this past offseason that he needed more games?

An issue has arisen for me here.

The team has been inconsistent all season, but seems to be really starting to tumble.

Out of that leadership core, or the guys who have been in the league for a decent amount of time. Who has really stepped up? Nobody.

Where is a bit of the fight back from guys like Brayden Schenn and Coots?
