It wasn't boneheaded to hire Laviolette. For whatever reason, what he's doing now isn't working like it did in 2010.

Injuries could be the reason. But why is Ottawa continuing to do solidly without their star center, leading goal scorer, Norris Trophy winning defenseman and star goalie? Why does New Jersey continue to be a good team despite losing it's star forward, Zach Parise?

Laviolette is running the same scheme with Schenn, Gervais, Foster, Gustafsson and Grossmann he did with Pronger and Carle.

- Jsaquella

It was a sarcastic "bone head". Maybe those teams can handle the loss of star players because of better overall depth.

I agree. What the Frank is going on, I always went for the Flyers in the playoffs the years the Leafs Missed. Do they Miss Pronger that Bad? Is Mr.Universe That Bad? Is Laviolette That Bad? How much do you guys want for Rinaldo????

New coach and a breire trade would make me happy.

On a positive note it sure is nice to see Read zipping around out there and Mezzy with some nice D to D passes.

I'm open to a new GM and player trades, too. But the first step is the coach, IMO. I want to start getting disciplined play going, no more running around and getting frustrated and having that lead to mistakes.

The roster can be looked at more accurately if the team is held accountable

Ugh. That's just sad...and sadly true.

Still, his potential as a playoff performer could get us something more than a bag of pucks in return.

its just like the flyers are going through the motions but the one thing that hasnt changed are those juicy rebounds by Bryz.

I feel like Holmgren can't really make any decent trades. Either they ask for the moon, or they push too much cap coming back Philly's way. It's almost as if the NHL teams collectively have all agreed to fleece the Flyers. After all, they're the reason there was another lockout (Shea Weber).

At this point I am interested in the question: when do we become sellers?

I agree, no team is going to give up a great asset that will save our season for nothing.

Karlsson was replaced by Eric Gryba, a 24 year old career minor leaguer who had never played a NHL game prior to this year.

The guys called up from the Phantoms have done solidly, by and large. The mistakes are being made by veterans, like Braydon Coburn and Danny Briere.

He should get you a decent return. As long as he is willing to go.

In regards to the coaching, look how many times nj changed coaches mid season and the team afterward went on a tear. It's doable and doing the samething over and over expecting different results is insane ask Einstein

I have no problem with the Flyers making a move. In fact they need to do something b/c its embarrassing to watch this team play.

Depends on what the price is and who will pay what. The main pieces to trade have c/ntc

How ironic would it be that Boston is the last team Lavy faces behind the bench

Since the historic comeback, the Bruins have a Cup under their belt and are at the top of the NHL, and the Flyers are nowhere.

Can we go back and just lose that series?
