Ottawa's defense is Sergei Gonchar, an old Chris Phillips and a slew of guys who were career minor leaguers six months ago. They're missing their best playmaker and offensive player, their top goal scorer and the goalie who has played at an extraordinary level this season.

My argument is, the poor player performances are due in part to the way the coach has used them and in part to the lack of accountability the coach holds them to.

The guys on that team and media have said that old Phillips has been their most consistent player this year. Methot has stepped up. Wiercoch (?sp) has been good and has a huge shot they use on their PP. The forwards they have are a nice combination of speed and grit. They have some very good top end guys still playing.
Their minor leaguers are way better then what the Flyers have in ADK. With Karlsson that team would be pushing Boston for the top.

Point I guess is the Flyers should not keep trading draft picks.

Look at Boston. Very solid two way game and good offense to boot. They play exciting tough winning hockey. I'll take that any day of the week

No, they shouldn't trade picks at all.

They're asking their minor leaguers to play 20 minutes a night. Eric Gryba has 9 games of NHL experience at age 24, and he's playing 20 minutes a night. If he was that good, why did it take him until 24 to make the NHL?

I know others see it differently but I'd play out the entire season and if the team misses the playoffs, Make a change in the offseason. Let the new coach have a full training camp to make changes.
