i don't think morrow is the right guy, but i'm also not ready to give up on TK. the guy plays tough every night and has played solid defensively as far as i'm concerned. so what he has 3 goals? so does david backes, derek roy, and andy mcdonald. it's also 1 more than nicklas backstrom, brad richards, and milan michalek.

- Killian

I'm biased against TK, but what has bothered me about him so much this season, isn't necessarily his lack of production, but he's been so bad in the areas where he's always been good at (forechecking, corner work, cycling, etc).

Jagr really would be a great option, and Duper to line 3, it would solidify the top 9 for sure. The 3rd line would be one of the best in the NHL again. Cheaper option than Iginla too.

A steady nasty physical D on top of that and we could send Jagr out a Cup winner, just like he came in.

Man that would be aswesome

I think anyone we acquire at this point will be someone we have no discussions about. Can't wait to see how this trade deadline shakes out league wide
- dbell646

Let me guess Shero's speach.."prices were sky rocketing and we liked our team the way it is right now"..."we'll roll with our lines and support TK and Engelland as our starters"

yeah this is true, but he is used to having #11 in the middle. not taking anything away from sutter because he is a very talented hockey player and an excellent 3rd line center...but let's face it, he is no jordan staal. sutter is also opposite handed than staal which is why his first look is to cooke, rather than staal's first look being kennedy. i think TK is still a good fit on that 3rd line and if we do upgrade dupuis spot, sadly he goes back to the 4th line in place of glass (where he was at when we won the cup)

There are 446 bridges in Pittsburgh...and Jaromir Jagr has burned every last one of them
- Killian

I have a feeling esp with a little time that has passed, and the fact he is not wearing Orange and Black anymore, that there is 1 bridge left untouched.

You know Engelland will be in the line up tomorrow too, just to have his fight with Orr and that is the main reason. Despres should be in over him right now.

I will lay off TK after his tying goal last night, even though Sutter's screen in front was the key. When he gets back to normal tomorrow night, though....all bets are off!!

and for all of the people hating on vokoun right now...he is the guy that stood up in the locker room after the first period last night and rallied the troops. don't lose faith in him either!

As much as I'd like to see Jagr back, I can't imagine it happening.

It didn't seem like Shero really wanted him here two summers ago in the first place, and with tampering rules, I'm pretty sure Lemieux isn't even allowed to talk to him to mend fences to even lay the groundwork for a trade.

I don't want to be a troll, or a "Him no fight, him no score, him useless" caveman guy, but I have a question:

There was talk yesterday about dressing Engelland to deal with Philly's guys.
However, last night, for the 3rd time in the last handful of games vs. Philly, James Neal threw what I deemed a pretty deliberate head shot at a player (twice at Giroux). So Hartnell goes to make him answer. He doesn't jump him; he said something to him as Neal went to the box, and he skated right up to him and dropped the gloves.Neal seemed to want no piece of it, although he did finally drop the gloves when it was apparent he was going whether he wanted to or not.

I guess my question is, isn't that EXACTLY what you'd want Engelland to do if a player had constantly targeted Crosby or Malkin's head? And if the player didn't seem inclined to answer, wouldn't you bash him? I know that Neal's not known as a fighter, and I know that the Pens scored on the PP (although they would give up another 3 straight before the comeback). But to me, I'd just want any player on the Flyers to be ready and willing to defend himself if he has to answer for (what to me seems like) constant targeting of another team's top players. Like I said, not tryign to troll, just interested how you guys see it.

- jmatchett

at the risk of sounding biased, some of those penalty calls on neal were an absolute joke, made all the more apparent by a few of the make up calls against the flyers later in the game. however, as to your thing about hartnell, as much as i hate him, that is whats awesome about them. penalty or not, if someone was getting that close to crosby id want someone to do that. hate hartnell but damn its hard to not value him as a player

I don't think anyone is hating on Vokoun today. Yesterday before the game I'm sure everyone was.

and i realize im a little late but wow. that is a lot of money for getzlaf. for half a million more the pens have crosby. i totally agree with whoever early posted that it was probably almost worth it for them to throw an extra million or so just to get it over with now though.

THe salary is not the problem....$4.5 for one year pro rated is easy to digest..if JAGS only called Mario and Shero..

He wasn't tested all that much yesterday which is a credit to the defense, but it's exactly what he needed confidence wise.

i dont think dallas can afford to lose him, they are barely hanging on to 7th place right now. plus he seems to be happy there, so why would he request a trade?

To play for his childhood idol? ...well, I know they'd only trade him if they fall out of contention

Shero owns that organization, in fact if the 412 shows up on Joe's phone, he will simply answer with 'Jagr for a 3rd? you got it Ray.....'

I like(d) Regehr... Gunner says he looks bad in Buffalo though. Maybe a move to the Pens would rejuvenate him. Or, we'd end up with a stiff. Good news is, that he probably wouldn't cost more than a draft pick.
- rival22

It would be similar to when the Pens acquired Jay McKee.
