How about a little welcome back Ryan Malone action? Think we could use some beef up front since the Tangradi experiment was a bust.

T.K. and a third\fourth for Malone?

I'd have to pass on Malone at this point. He's injured constantly. If Tampa would be willing to eat the 3 mill we would be taking back I'd consider it.

yeah, as much as i like malone i have to agree. he is constantly hurt, and not worth the contract. however, he is the type of player we are missing right now. we seem to be lacking net front presence at both ends of the ice right now (more so in the defensive zone). improving the D is our #1 priority right now, but if we are going to upgrade the front 6 (obviously dupuis being the odd man out) it needs to be a power forward that he work the front of the net

Until 14-15 ...no way we get him. Morrow would be a cheaper option.

I just looked on capgeek. He has 2 years left with a 2.5 mill salary but a cap hit of 4.5.. I think that's what would prevent us from acquiring him

If he was an expiring contract I would be all over that.

I like the hit though...

2012-13 $3,000,000
2013-14 $2,500,000
2014-15 $2,500,000

Brenden Morrow: 22GP 5G 5A 10P.
$4.1M, free agent after this year.
I say go get him if the price is right. (not my first option though)

He hasn't really impressed me this year, but he's better than Kennedy. I think Shero can and will do better.

So, his cap hit would be something like $2,633.000 for us? For 3 years? I don't know how it works but it sounds OK if that's it.

I would love to see Jagr come back now that his cap hit wouldn't be a problem.

i don't think morrow is the right guy, but i'm also not ready to give up on TK. the guy plays tough every night and has played solid defensively as far as i'm concerned. so what he has 3 goals? so does david backes, derek roy, and andy mcdonald. it's also 1 more than nicklas backstrom, brad richards, and milan michalek.

hopefully that big goal he scored last night gives him a confidence boost and he can start showing up on the scoresheet more often. but i don't rule him out just yet.

Jagr really would be a great option, and Duper to line 3, it would solidify the top 9 for sure. The 3rd line would be one of the best in the NHL again. Cheaper option than Iginla too.

A steady nasty physical D on top of that and we could send Jagr out a Cup winner, just like he came in.

Man that would be aswesome

I also value his work on the ice. He's not the most talented guy out there but helps with his quickness and grit.
The bad thing is that he makes $2M and guys like Cooke/Dupuis get less..we are VERY spoiled
