it's a good thing sharpie only separated his shoulder and didn't F up his collarbone.

Would rather have a broken bone than separated shoulder IMO.

Yeah 4-6 weeks is 4-6 weeks and with platelet therapy and things like that it can be accelerated. Bones also heal stronger after they break. Joints are no bueno

I'll go on record right now and say that is a GOD AWFUL deal for Anaheim. Horrible. Guy is no where close to being paid that much. God bless Getzlaf's agent.

We'll see just how good of a capologist Stanley is, as the wonder twins will want a minimum of 8.5 for max term. Have a LOT of key guys coming up in free agency here, as well as RFAs.

Maybe Haugh and moronic TAB should have held off their love for Stanley.

- SteveRain

I was hoping Stan can say to them sign 3 year offers for the same amount your making now. You will be 28 when they end and you can go make crazy money then, but we can win some cups in the meantime!!!

Ummm, I was the one asking the question.

He'll probably get more than that just through inflation. Beyond that, no one knows.

- John Jaeckel

No he was asking a question, there was a ? after Saad!!!

And there's only 2 more seasons after this one before they're UFA's. Bolly's and Hammer's deals expire a year earlier. Should be interesting but I'm far more interested in seeing SB add a couple pieces we can all attend a parade in late June !!

I think that's what Campbell got when he was out for the first part of the 2010 playoffs. Came back crazy fast. i have heard that treatment is very effective. Connective tissue can take 2 years to heal on its own.

No chance...not unless the quality of the team is bad by then.
They want max term, and at least 8.5 Crosby is making 8.7.

Obviously, Corey Perry doesn't want to resign, or wants MORE so either you deal him or Bobby Ryan by the deadline. I just don't see how they keep all 3 guys and go cup or bust. New Jersey did that, and they are left with a huge void. Same with Nashville.

I will be interested to see what the HRR numbers are at the end of next season. I think the cap will grow to near $70MM again soon enough.

Thought I saw a story a few weeks back about how the pro-rated HRR numbers for this season show a healthy increase over last year.

Oh, here it is: http://www.cbssports.com/...on-in-revenue-this-season

$2.4B for a 48 game season this year? That translates to $4.1B for a full season. Divide that by two, and then by the number of teams - that's a cap of $68.33MM per team.

are we putting a goalie in net tonight ? or just going to try 6 on 5 and see if we lose that way?

The high wire act Bowman needs to walk over the next 8 months or so is not unlike 2010. The problem isn't quite as acute, but it is is similar in nature.

Expectations are sky high. Anything less than winning the West will be viewed as a disappointment.

So the first question he has to ask is are the expectations 100% achievable with this roster? Some of you, I'm sure, are sold. But to others, I think it is a valid and open question.

Cap going down, Kruger, Stalberg, Leddy, Emery and Bickell all due new contracts (and raises).

Buyouts? Who?

Performance bonuses, some of which in light of the streak and playoff expectations might be triggered. Kane wins the Hart, someone else wins the Smythe?

Good info. says the Hawks are working on extensions now with all their free agents (Bickell is supposedlty close). Stalberg is supposedly asking for more than they can afford.

Do you really want to let any of those guys go without compensation?

Do you use one (or even two) of them to acquire some asset(s) you feel could help in the playoffs?

@MarkLazerus: Bryan Bickell will get first crack at Sharp's second-line spot alongside Bolland and Kane. #Blackhawks

So who the hell is on the third line then?

Hey Return of the Roar, I know it is only going to change for you if we win another cup. But to you still feel Stan is that much of a Failure.. I think it's a little overboard to still have it on his head, but that's just me!!!

It's a hard call but having a legit opportunity to win the cup does not come up very often. The team is clicking right now therefore IMO you make the moves neccessary to put you over the top.

In the end the goal is to win the cup, right!

That being said maybe you sacrifice a first round choice and a Pirri but if you can obtain an impact player like Iginla or to a lesser extent a Steve Ott then you make that move.

People remember cup winners and nothing else.

Have heard nothing about the room. On-ice results suggest it's pretty positive and tight, though.

Dunno about TT. My gut tells me he'll do another year in Finland. Will be lots of rooks at Rockford next fall: Johns, Danault, Carruth, McNeill (among others)

Can't do that: don't most of the league's revenues - from TV, even from gate - come after January and into the play-offs?

Agree - even the author suggests you can't really go quite that literally. However, there is still good revenue growth buried in those numbers, and there was no all star game or winter classic money this year either.

It won't be that long before the cap is near $70MM again.
