Ducks Sign Getzlaf to Eight-Year Contract Extension
- FourFeathers773

If this is accurate, the Ducks will try to sign Perry and if they can't he will be in Toronto by the deadline.

It's a site for Chinese knock-offs.
- EKolb13

You can pay your $200 bucks, I didn't get far enough into the blog to see all the bashing of the knockoff's. I payed around $150 for a Keith, Larmer, Baseball- Santo, Football- Marshall and Dent, and everyone loves their jerseys.. Seems like fine work to me!!!! I don't worry about the little stuff.. a thread here, color off here... They all look good to my eyes! Maybe they weren't made on a Friday...

If the Leafs and Perry can come to a contract agreement look for Kessell and an unprotected prospect to be the price.

Agreed !! WTF are they doing ? 1/8 of their salary cap will be tied up in this guy. No way they keep Perry too. He will want the same at least !

If Getzlaf is staying, I'll bet Perry is doing the same, and I'd bet Perry's extension should be done soon.

Hopefully they will undertand that if they get so much of the pie there is little left to surround them with good talent.

That's what I hate about this system. All it takes is one stupid GM or one bad, player-slanted ruling in arbitration to eff things up for everyone else.

Anaheim has just under $20 million in cap room for next season, including Getzlaf's deal. They'll have room to fit Perry in.

cap room and cash are two different stories, however.

It's Anaheim's problem now. Keep in mind, this is for a guy who's averaged 16 goals and 61 points over the last three years.

But he can beat up all of Finland, that's worth something. Wasn't that the story? He was going to fight everyone at the Worlds this year?

You would think these players know if they make to much, the rest of your team suffers... Hopefully Kane and Toews realize this and the numbers don't make us shake our head and say why.. How much is enough?? And then it's back to 2011 and 2012 type seasons!!

It's the inability of the owners to understand that sh!t like this is what causes lockouts every time their contract is up. How can they complain about revenues and all the st if they make outrageous deals like this?

That's why you see a lot of signing bonuses being paid out, to keep that hit low. Parise is only a 7.5M hit ("only"). Crosby is 8.7. For 500k more, wouldn't you rather have Crosby? But both of those guys got ridiculous signing bonuses in the first couple seasons.

I would hope if Stan is going to back up the truck for 19/88, he is creative with it. They'll get a raise, but to what extent?

Well if you want to bash Tallon, I suggest you get them in this year. Yeah, it isn't pretty in Florida. But Hrubedeau might win the Calder this year. Howden and Bjugsted are on their way. Markstrom and Gudbrandson are suffering right now, but they have high end talent. And if this one year of futility nets them Seth jones or Nate McKinnon... well in a couple years he'll be right where he was in 2009 with the Hawks.
- yahoodi

Different situation from the standpoint Tallon has many overpaid 3rd/4th line players that were signed to get to cap floor.

Unless they are a consitent playoff team Tallon will be a bag holder on a few deals.

For the record I said excatly the same thing last year.
