Heard just now, Hossa has a shoulder bruise, was held out the other night as a precaution and to rest. He is fine. Shaw was also held out of the third as a precaution. Yes, both are a go.

I'm glad the Hawks are being cautious with the players' health. I'd rather have the streak end than rush a potentially injurd player back into the line up. If it was the playoffs that's a different story (except for concussions) but right now there's no need to risk a players log term health.

Yep! Me too, which is why I spent the coin on these -- they look great and should for how much money they charge. The other thing -- these come out of Canada (the jerseys) and then are finished at a shop in the US.

BTW, when you guys buy me a sweater, I don't want any of those Chinese knockoffs with the funky numbers (that comprise about 50% or more of the sweaters you see at the UC now)

Agreed.

I made the mistake of buying one a few years back (one of the green ones...). The effing thing was cut wrong! One sleeve slightly longer than the other. Since then, I've only bought either authentic jerseys or game worn jerseys.

I guess you get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

I'm on the verge of going all authentic.

I got a Sharp replica a number of years ago in the Blackhawks shop in Chicago, and it was outstading - stiched numbers/nameplate and all.

But, now that I'm living in Ohio and can't stroll down Michigan Avenue at my leisure, My wife (god bless her) ordered me a white Hossa sweater two years ago for my birthday, and sure enough, screened numbers.

Looks like my next order will be a bit more expensive...

Dream weavers:

Clarkson is not on the block & the flyers are not "sellers."
There is a much better chance the Rangers are letting go than the flyers...

I think you missed one player on Calgary & one player on Winnipeg roster that the be Hawk may ventually in low-key pursuit of.

unless Tamp falters out of contention, I don't even see them dealing Thompson. Thompson has never been a plus player

And I tend to agree with the experts who say this is going to be a relatively quiet trade dealine in terms of defensive help. In the past teams out of contention, readily launched their 5 -7 defenders with expiring contracts for 3rds and even 2nds or even both (Oduya & Nicklas Grossmann).

GM's found out that in free agency, they had to vastly over-pay for bottom end defenders (and forwards for that matter).

Most are willinging to give raises and keep the reliable help they like, instead of making the business decision to "get something" for them.
"Business" has basicially changed to paying out inside the organizations even at the lower end, because outside help is now more expensive and may not fit with the core group already in place.

That coupled by the nice selection of options even in the third round of this draft class means you could get a nice long term find in the draft, but even the buyers will be cautious to not over pay in those 2nd & 3rds.

I predict less few first rounders switch hands between now and the draft, even in possible trades where the flip picks.

and for the folks who just can't resist posting their dream trade scenarios, restrain from mention any guys who would be considered top 8 on their PRESENT team, unless their team is in full blown re-build...
'cause they ain'y happening...
for example,
The Ducks are NOT trading any good players.

- wiz1901

Agree on the dman....Depth players both offense and defense could be held onto if on affordable contracts.

Next yr.being like no other.....It is known the cap ceiling will be lower than this year.

As far as the Ducks....It has nothing to do with Hawks...

But Murray is in a bind...He may may do what Nash. didn't do last yr and launch an upcoming UFA....if that happens the favorite who would be headed East would be Perry.

The Ducks probably could find the $$ but Perry seems like someone who will test free agency...Getzlaf not thought of in the same way.

I've ordered a few from Triple Threat Sports. My wife wears the replica jerseys, and they'll stitch the numbers on for her.

You know what the worst thing is, when you have a buddy that tells you he got an authentic sweater w/the tackle twill stitching, etc. He shows you and you have to be the one to tell him he got taken for a knock off

I bought my sweater from www.jerseyexpress.com. They had a coupon and I think I got 15% off and free shipping.

Plus, they have other stuff they periodically throw on sale. And they have the name/number kits for each team, so if you had your own league team and were thinking of creating your own sweaters, you could pilfer some ideas from the kits.

"@RyanDadoun

After that loss to the Caps, the Florida Panthers have a minus-30 goal differential. The next worst is CBJ with minus-15."

Not to change the subject but Dale Tallon was all the rave for many dating back to last year while StanBo could not doing anything right. He was considered to be riding success on the coattails of Tallon's acquisitions/drafts. My how things have changed in one year. I was admittedly skeptical last year of SB after two years falling short of expectations but that may have been premature.

A red Brouwer 22
A white Kruger 16
Hossa 81, any color except the the throwback (which blows)
And by all means a Danault, number TBD, when he arrives

All size XXL

Craig Custance of ESPN: Custance put together a list of the top 20 rental players that could be available at this year’s trade deadline or before.

“You can’t let players walk,” said one NHL source. “If you’re going to lose players, you have to get something.”

1. Corey Perry – $5.3 million. Asking price could be a roster player, 1st round pick and a good prospect.

2. Daniel Alfredsson – $4.9 million. Asking price could be a 1st round pick, B-level prospect and conditional draft pick based on playoff success.

3. David Clarkson – $2.7 million. Asking price could be a 1st round pick and a prospect. Source added, ”You only try to do that if you think you can re-sign him.“

4. Jarome Iginla – $7 million with a no-movement clause. Asking price could be a Grade A prospect and a 2nd round that becomes a 1st if the team wins the cup.

5. Mike Ribeiro – $5 million with a no-trade clause. Asking price could be a 1st round pick and a B-level prospect.

6. Mike Smith – $2 million. Asking price could be a 1st round pick and a prospect.

I have a couple brief comments. 1) I'd almost like the Hawks to acquire Mike Smith so they could take runs at him during practice. 2) Nik Antropov...yuck. I think if the Hawks agreed to get him, that Winnipeg should throw in the 2nd/3rd rounders StanBo sent them last year. That guy is about as interested in hockey as I am hearing about my girlfriend's day at work. (hint...not very)
