Wow. I dreamt that my brother died in a car fire and I watched as the flesh melted off his face like in Raiders of the Lost Ark...but yours was MUCH worse! |

Stalberg isn't. Toews isn't. Hossa isn't. Shaw isn't. Bollig has been pretty good - rollpards19

Colorado played a very good, tenacious game. Foley and Eddie mentioned the 6 games in 9 nights thing...that would have something to do with the Hawks looking so flat. It looked over to me at 3-1...simply no push back. Altitude is a big contributor--especially if fatigue is already a factor. I play at 1500 ft higher elevation than Denver ... both take some getting used to. Tough for a tired team. Colorado played hard and took advantage of their conditions, just like the Hawks did in some of their wins. - grinder10

Trap game!
Great run! Back to hockey I guess now.
Realistic list: Greening, Hendricks, Smithson, Gordon
Wishful thinking list: MacKenzie, Smith, Neil, Thompson
No Chance list: Slater, Clarkson, Bozak, Ott
I'll take any two of the above and Stan probably wants similar guys...some are available, some not, some likely too costly for Stan. But getting Greening and Smithson for some prospects/ maybe a guy like Stalberg?
Glass in the air to the Hawks. Time to see how they bounce back against a quick oil team. - Kentxo
The Hawks might have a real shot at him. Could have used him last night.

The big winner with the streak is not the Hawks or Hawk fans it's none other than Garry Bettman. Don't hear much about the lockout anymore and the Hawks have been able to do something that meathead struggles with getting the NHL some positive national publicity. |

I think sunday will be a big game. Very telling. Over the last few years the Hawks never seemed to take advantage of teams coming in hurting. In fact they were great for helping teams break their own slumps. I will be very upset if they don't blow out the Oilers. A huge game for Crawford, in my opinion - tomcat24
I agree. They have to come back with him and he has to play pretty well.
Last night, you saw Corey Crawford's career in a nutshell: some big, quality saves and an entire period of almost complete breakdown.
I will also say, Q does not have a ton of patience with that kind of inconsistency in net. And I think that's something he likes about Emery: he's consistent.

Pirri for Smithson or Goc. Give young talent for veteran grit that wins faceoffs and hits. Tallon gets back one of his draft prizes.
Stanton and Beach for Greening. Get a solid complimentary natural LW who willplay physical and can skate and is signed for 2 years. Ottawa gets a needed defenseman and a flier on a guy who maybe benefits from a change of scenery....or throw a Lalonde at them. Would Olsen be overpayment?
My other option is Pirri for Hendricks. Hendricks plays on Kruger's wing and takes draws.
Are these in the ballpark? |

For sure. Some physical push back and a faceoff win would haave been nice last night. Would love to see him with Kruger and Frolik. Not a fighter but can hit. Good PK guy as well to further spell Toews from taking all crucial d-zone draws.

See I somewhat disagree here. I still see the hawks as the same team as last year, and really even the year before that for the most part. Sure they have had an incredible run and it's been fun to watch (but remember last season's 1st place record at the halfway mark). SB still hasn't shown me he can pull off a good trade. The team has been relatively healthy until now. Most odd is that up until tonight no one has played them 'physically' when the book on the hawks the last couple seasons was to hit them hard and hit them often. Hawks are a very good team... but they still have the same holes from last season and if other teams learned anything from watching the Avs tonight the hawks are going to have to better defend their star players. I think they need to address this. It'll be interesting to see how the players (and management) respond to the Sharp injury and this game. I'll be watching. - moylander
Fourteen hours after your post, but you're right on the money. The streak has been whole lot of fun to watch, night after night, but everything is still up for grabs. Are they Cup contenders? Sure--and so are several other teams. To state the obvious, they could have lost a large handful of games during the streak. Goaltending and PK have been better this year, along with more balanced scoring--but at the end of the day, every game is still pretty close--just like most have been over the last several years. This to me is very similar to the team that barely lost to Phoenix in the playoffs--on most nights they're in the game, but most of those games are pretty tight contests. |
